Sensitivity Test Before you use an essential oil, make sure you match your sensitivity level to that oil. The process to find out whether you are sensitive to a particular essential oil or not is quite simple. Just mix one drop of the essential oil with half tablespoon of any carrier oil(almond oil, olive oil, etc.) and then apply it on the inside upper portion of your arm. After a few hours, if you experience no redness or itching then you are not sensitive to that oil.

Not To Be Used In Undiluted Form  An essential oil should never be used in its undiluted form. Always mix it with any carrier oil or other diluting components to prevent an adverse reaction. Although there are some exceptions to this rule like lavender, sandalwood, rose geranium that can be used in their undiluted form. In case of babies and small children, it is advised never to use essential oils in their concentrated form and also to use extremely small quantities
