A historic victory: Roca Team are champions of France!

On June 15th, Roca Team basketball players defeated their rivals from Boulogne-Levallois 92:85 in the French championship final and won the champion title for the first time. In the history of the Club, the Monegasques were three times one step away from the victory and now they have finally brought home the long-awaited cup. The match made the fans freeze in anticipation of the outcome, and only after the 37th minute was the confrontation between the leaders of the championship resolved: the Monegasques stubbornly defended their position and broke through to victory. Jordan Loyd’s two powerful shots in the last minute were the final statement proving who was better in the match. Two days later, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène received the new champions at the Palace and congratulated the team on its historic victory.

This victory of Monaco’s basketball players was not the only one this year. On April 22nd, the team led by coach Saša Obradović also won the first Coupe de France in its history. The French club Asvel became the rival of the Monegasques in the final. About 550

Monegasque fans came to support their favourite team. In the starting five, Saša Obradović fielded Mike James, Eli Okobo, Jaron Blossomheim, John Brown and Donatas Motejunas. As a result, the red-and-whites defeated the opponents with a score of 90:70.
