Living in Oakland Welcome to the neighborhood!

Trash Talk If you live in Central, South, and West Oakland, your trash day is every Tuesday. If you live in North Oakland, your trash day is every Wednesday. Residents are not allowed to put out their trash earlier than the night before trash day. Every other Tuesday is recycling for Central, South, and West Oakland. Every other Wednesday is recycling for North Oakland. Recycle your glass, paper, cardboard, etc. in blue plastic bags. Recycling is required by law. Check out the QR code below for more info!

Be a Good Neighbor Congrats on moving off campus! Now you are living next door to families who have invested their lives into the neighborhood. Be a good neighbor by keeping your property clean from litter and debris, and partying indoors so you don’t wake up others. Your landlord is responsible for keeping your house livable and safe. Contact 311 to report problems with your property or landlord.
