Communications Assistant Position Overview OPDC is seeking an intern to assist the Communications Manager in the production of the organization’s e-newsletter and other marketing-related tasks as needed. This position has a heavy emphasis on writing. Responsibilities • • • •
Schedule and conduct interviews with stakeholders and clients served; synthesize information into compelling copy Draft articles for e-newsletter and other materials, as needed Assist with photography and video production (OPDC provides equipment) Assist in social media account management
Position Requirements Education: Upper-level undergraduate or graduate level preferred. Knowledge and Experience: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish relationships with various key stakeholders and community members. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results in a timely fashion. Mastery of the written word. Ability to synthesize complicated program information and quickly write pithy, engaging copy for multiple audiences. Interest in community development and public service. Duration and Compensation This position is open for the summer. Candidates interested in continuing into the 2012-2013 academic year should indicate this in their application.
