ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Trending are thefts from vehicles occurring between Hamlet and Ophelia/Lawn, in Oakcliffe as well as between Robinson, and Fifth Avenue into Uptown. Directed patrols are ongoing. Call 911 if suspicious behavior is noticed. Zone 4 Public Safety Council tomorrow, February 16, at JCC, 6PM. POINT PARK UNIVERSITY POLICE Q: A growing concern with residents is that the Point Park shuttle is becoming a party bus. A: Shuttle service is for students living downtown so they can attend classes, events at the Playhouse. Q: When is the shuttle scheduled to run? A: Shuttle runs 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Q: Is there a judicial board for Point Park students? A: Yes. They go through a conduct process on campus. It works like other courts: evidence, hearing, defense. Q: Can you report monthly to Oakwatch about this? A: Will ask and email response. Residents would like to see increased Point Park patrols in Oakcliffe; requested observation of the late night shuttle by the PPU police. Kannu Sahni offered to partner with PPU on training shuttle drivers.
Residents in agreement that Pitt needs more officers moved to the area also. Point Park University to forward code of conduct to Oakwatch, attend future meetings. PROPERTY PROGRESS REPORT Julianne Reiland: Joncaire Street developer application was denied. PWSA audit rumors of privatization are false. Occupancy permits on Bird’s Eye View are not available to public due to privacy concerns. New report provides summary of PLI activities. ALLEGHENY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPORT Larry Robinson: assigned to child lead poisoning detail; lead threshold changed to 9. Patrick Stokes has now been assigned to Oakwatch and has been given appropriate files. Noted bad housing conditions at 225 N Dithridge frat house. Supports Oakland’s need for a rental registry. Mayor Peduto has launched a formal investigation in regards to the PWSA lead findings. Uber and local women’s shelters have reached an agreement for free rides for all of 2017.
