How reading books can change the world for students Ever read a book and feel like you are actually part of that story and you are living in it? You may not literally be there, but you can experience it just the same. Well, that’s the power of the habit of reading books. It’s actually the process of digesting a character and a series of events which indeed turns you into a different person. They say reading can change one’s attitude, thinking, and perspective which can kindle the desire in readers to do good things for others. Everyone can make a difference, even children. Children are a crucial part of making this world a better place. They can play a great role in solving current global issues, but, only if they are aware of it. Indeed, books are one of the best sources of information which can make students aware and guide them addressing those overwhelming issues. Because, the more they read, the more they will educate themselves on what’s right and what’s not. It is, therefore, reading matters! The pleasure of reading becomes the habit of learning new things. To inculcate the habit of reading in students and ensure that they are getting access to the best books for their reading levels and interests, Oakridge conducts BOOK FAIRS along with the largest publishers and distributors of Children’s books. Oakridge International School, Bengaluru, held a book fair recently, organized by Kids2day International at the behest of Principal Mr. Anandam Das and Headmistress Ms. Jasjit Ahluwalia in the school premises. A wide range of books from all disciplines of education was displayed, and fiction saw the greatest takers. The children enjoyed the fair and picked books varying from science to spooky stories; from puzzles to poems; and from fiction to facts.
