Message from our Co-Chairs

Diwali, the Festival of lights, is a celebration of many things with a main ideology being a celebration of Light over Darkness. This could not be more appropriate for us today in 2022. The past two years have been some of the darkest times for many of us, especially in healthcare, but we are starting to see glimmers of welcome light.

For many of us, Diwali is a time to gather with loved ones and cherished friends, celebrating and sharing the rich traditions of our culture with our surrounding community. We enjoy the rituals, fireworks, dessert and decorations, reflecting on all that we are grateful for and praying for prosperity, good fortune and health in the coming year. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate our diversity and demonstrate the strength we draw from our many and varied communities. At the same time, Diwali marks a special time for us to reflect on ways that we can lift the spirits of those around us, shining light into the world, even amidst the most difficult of circumstances. As a community hospital that depends on all of our support, we are thankful to our sponsors and all those who contributed to raising funds not only for today’s event but throughout the year. This event would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the Hospital Foundation, the entire Oakville Diwali Committee and various donors and supporters. Thank you for always being our guiding light.

On that note, we wish you all the best for this festive season as we celebrate here today in the company of each other. May each of you be blessed with memorable moments of joy, love, togetherness, kindness, empathy, and forgiveness and may the light of Diwali continue to lead you on the road of growth and prosperity.

From our family to yours, and on behalf of the entire Diwali Committee, we wish you a safe, happy and healthy Diwali and Happy New Year.

With gratitude,
