Miss World Barbados 2019

Ché Amor Greenidge

OASIS Laboratory was proud to support Ché on her journey to represent Barbados at Miss World on the world stage in December 2019. We've asked Ché a few questions to learn a bit more about who is Ché and her journey.

Who is Ché and what are your aspirations in life? A really ambitious young woman who enjoys being "different" and likes to think outside the box. I have a strong sense of duty and I am always ready to take a stand and defend those in need. Other than that, I am a fairly carefree and easygoing person who loves interacting with people, so feel free to come up to me and say "Hey Ché"! My main goal is to excel in whatever I decide to do and give 100% of my effort. I can't say what my aspirations are as they change and evolve as I do. However, my focus has always been on helping others and I have found this purpose especially with the deaf community. Through my charity “The Deaf Heart Project”, I really hope to make their world better and future brighter.

Can you share your experience as Miss World Barbados 2019, what are some of the highlights of your journey? The greatest privilege of being Miss World Barbados has been becoming a proud Ambassador for our country and demonstrating what it means to be Barbadian at an international assembly. Showcasing our talent, culture, intellect, our kindness and accent (of course) brought me great joy, especially as it was received so warmly. There are so many amazing moments to choose from, I don't know where to begin! But there was definitely something extra special when I placed in the Top 10 talent singers and was chosen for a one-of-a-kind performance at the Grand Finale. Not only did I get to put Barbados' name on the big stage, but I got to sing AND SIGN! That inclusion meant the world to the deaf community across the globe, and that meant the world to me.

Is there anything you would have done differently? I embraced my journey wholly because I know every decision I made at the time was the best in that moment so I wouldn't say there's anything I would've done differently. What I can say though, is that I will use my journey to equip my successor as best as I can so she can have the most amazing experience and make an even greater impact representing Barbados.
