Biography Inspired by Emmitt Smith books, Barry Sanders highlight videos, and a creative mind to supply himself with enough socks to stuff into his pants as football pads while playing in the front yard, Dwight Alan Armbrust Jr. has welcomed his yearning passion.
inclined, Dwight pushes for excellence in all aspects. He is continuing to grow as a well-rounded individual who uses professionalism as his principle to apply in his work ethics and community outreach. With an opportunity to contribute his skills, Dwight aims to change sceptics to believers.
Dwight played his first three years of high school football as a Woodside Wolverine in Newport News, Virginia. His sister who was a scholar basketball player for Virginia Commonwealth University, set an example for him to be a successful athlete and avid studious individual. Hard work, dedication, perseverance, and discipline along with self determination were imprinted into his mind. Playing for the Woodside Wolverines enabled Dwight the opportunity to conquer some of the top programs in the country that included Hampton and Pheobus.
Dwight’s challenges include battling favouritism at the age of 9 playing his first year of Little League Football with Prince George Recreation. He vividly remembers what ignited his life passion to become a Professional Athlete in the Football League.
Due to his father’s military responsibilities, their family moved constantly. Dwight finished the rest of his high school year running track and also played football for the Onate Black Knights in Las Cruces, New Mexico. His determination to continue his career earned him multiple division one opportunities. Dwight was offered a spot on the roster as an Aggie at New Mexico State University and as a Warrior at the University of Hawaii. The decision to play for the University of Hawaii took action in 2009 as a grey-shirt walk on. Dwight was given a promising start as the #23 Warrior Slot Receiver until a coaching change led him to transfer to Albany State University in 2011. At Albany State University he acquired new techniques and skills equivalent to the pro-style offense. Dwight’s journey has come with plenty of adversity which has strengthened him for the future challenges. He returned to the University of Hawaii due to personal reasons in 2012 and completed his graduation requirements to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnic Studies. Naturally athletic and artistically
Dwight received his first carry of his Little League year. It was his first time ever being under the bright lights in an organized sport. He received the hand off and competitively ran from the 22 yard line to the end zone, scoring his first touchdown. In those 80 yards, with the wind in his face simultaneously avoiding opposition, he programmed himself mentally to be a touchdown machine. Before the game Dwight was misinformed, so he wore his practice shirt while everyone else arrived prepared with their jerseys. But this achievement was a statement to those who doubted his skills before this game, denying Dwight his chance to shine as a 90 pound relentless athlete. This along with being treated as the team’s practice dummy silently drove him to be what he is today. No malicious action or word could discourage this 9 year old Running back’s accomplishment and big dream from there on. With the football life he chose, Dwight has realized to value his humiliation and to accept challenges combatting them with the integrity and morals his family has instilled in him. A destined NFL prospect was born on July 7th, 1991 in Charleston, South Carolina to Dwight and Dernice Armbrust. “It’s destiny. It doesn’t matter what people say or do to me to keep me from my dreams, I realize it is all on me.” page 2

Coaching & Mental Development
While being present to support and help coach Kalani High School athletes I noticed the players’ drive and inspiration to push for greater success. Having a mentor throughout my high school education would have provided me with more guidance to plan for success at an early stage. I want to fill that void in the community and share my experiences that I have gathered along the way with the youth.

I understand that the integrity of the NFL is embodied by each of its members and proper representation is vital to the image and brand of the club. I plan to continually take on these responsibilities of empowering children, prospective athletes, dreamers, and supporters.

I feel that reading and wisdom comes hand in hand. As a child I felt that reading gave me an intellectual and imaginative edge that helped me break my plateaus. I feel that today’s society values do not encourage reading and the power to gain knowledge for oneself as an individual. I want to influence others to be aware of their potentials; what they can become, achieve, and who they can empower.

Hello my name is Cy Hirota (D.C. and CPT) and I currently work at 24 Hour Fitness as a Fitness Manager. On the weekends I run a flag football league for adults whose ages range from 18-30. As a former June 12th, 2013 collegiate football player I have seen many athletes and have helped many athletes achieve their goals of football. This letter is about DJ Armbrust (Dwight Alan Armbrust Jr.) who is looking to further his career on the To Whom It May Concern: football field. I have known DJ for about a year now thru a mutual friend and was looking to do some off season I would like to give my highest recommendation to Mr. Dwight Armbrust. I’ve had the pleasure training while he was getting ready playinfootball at the University Hawaii.motivated, By my personal opinion he has to coach Dwight when hetowas high school. Dwight isof highly and an extremely hard worker. He’s a very smart football player, and a great teammate. Dwight came to us probably late one in of the seen. Very good in running and his best highhands schoolI have career, and was ableskills to pick up a sharp brandclean new routes, offensebreaking very quickly, which is very difficult to do. Dwight was behind on the depth chart having come in so late, bursting out his cuts, elusive enough to outHe step or two. Solid work ethic and and doesfought not shy but of never onceand griped or complained. seta defender off to work immediately in practice, very hard to earn playing time. He is a solid route runner, a very skilled blocker, and is able away from hard work. He is always on time and will be the last one to leave a workout. He is very hungry to to read defenses very well. He is a student for the game, always wanting to learn and grow as about a player. Hecan hasbe also tobest develop his skills on the sidethat of the learn more how he thestarted absolute that there is. The last defensive one that I feel is aball, hugewhich plus is has made him a better overall player as well. His athleticism is a tremendous asset for him, he is able usecoaching/criticism that to his advantage. I haveheseen him grow mature a very that he isand coachable and to takes as a positive, knows that this and will make himinto an even better wonderful young man, and I am proud to say that I know him. Dwight will make an excellent player onteammate the field. and member of any organization that he becomes a part of. It was with great honor and privilege that I give my highest recommendation of this young man, and know that you will see all that same great qualities that I have seen in him as well.

To Whom it May Concern,
Hello my name is Cy Hirota (D.C. and CPT) and I currently work at 24 Hour Fitness as a Fitness Manager. On the weekends I run a flag football league for adults whose ages range from 18-30. As a former collegiate football player I have seen many athletes and have helped many athletes achieve their goals of football. I have known DJ for about a year now thru a mutual friend and was looking to do some off season training while he was getting ready to play football at the University of Hawaii. By my personal opinion he has probably one of the best hands I have seen. Very good skills in running sharp clean routes, breaking and bursting out of his cuts, and elusive enough to out step a defender or two. Solid work ethic and does not shy away from hard work. He is always on time and will be the last one to leave a workout. He is very hungry to learn more about how he can be the absolute best that there is. The last one that I feel that is a huge plus is that he is coachable and takes coaching/criticism as a positive, he knows that this will make him an even better player on the field.
