These Interest Lists will contain the top trending topics, customized to each user’s interests. If you’re already someone who gets your news on Facebook and other social media, this will add to the efficiency of the process. Rather than scrolling through daily posts in our friends’ feed, all relative posts of a topic will be “curated” under one Interest. Lest the term “curate” remind you of a museum, think of it like the sections in a newspaper. Facebook’s new Interest Lists are meant to provide the same feel, but as a next-gen interpretation of the concept. Interest Lists are intended to make user feeds more personable. This feature will allow users to create a list of people and brands that fit into categories, making it easier to separate our personal interests (family and friends) from business or more public interests. We are also able to create our own Lists and subscribe to lists that others have created. “Interest Lists can help you turn Facebook into your own personalized newspaper, with special sections, or feeds, for topics that matter to you,” wrote Eric Faller, a Facebook software engineer, in a blog post.
