ATASDA members enjoy sharing all things textile, including workshops, guest speakers, exhibitions, social meetings, challenges, sharing skills and knowledge, visiting galleries and networking, and are nurtured in their textile and surface design journey.
Members use many techniques – various types of dyeing such as eco-dyeing and indigo, felting, printing and mark-making, hand and machine stitching, weaving, beading, knitting and knotting, crochet and embellishment. Unusual materials such as metal, paper, cloth, fibres and plastics are utilised in ingenious ways. Members encourage each other to extend their creative boundaries. Meet members, book into a workshop, or join ATASDA. All levels of experience are welcomed and encouraged! Meetings in Sutherland second Saturday of each month.

The Meroogal Women’s Art Prize 2020 celebrates the creativity and achievements of female artists across NSW and pays tribute to the four generations of women from the Thorburn and Macgregor families who lived at Meroogal in Nowra for almost 100 years. A diverse range of works by finalist artists are exhibited in and around the historic house of Meroogal, its garden and grounds, throwing new light on the stories of the people who lived there and the house’s rich collection of objects.
