Everyone knows finding your ideal spouse in life is easier said than done. But what about the perfect planner, photographer, florist, makeup artist, etc.? The options can be overwhelming, we know. Beyond that, how do you know they'll all work together effectively to bring your visions to life? It's simple: hiring vetted professionals means they'll be just that – professional. Heather O’Brien Designs is a custom wedding stationery design business in Jacksonville, Florida. Heather's love of clean and simple has defined her style for creating her client’s wedding brand that brings together their wedding day to be a beautifully, cohesive event.

From save the dates to favors, your personal style can easily shine through every detail of your day. Not sure where to start? Enlist the help of a wedding branding expert! What does it mean to have a wedding "brand?" A wedding brand is the overall look and feel that you generate for your big day for your guests. Aside from incorporating your colors and style into your flowers, bridesmaids dresses and linens, your colors and style can also come into play with your save the dates, invitations, and “day of” pieces. You can create essentially a “wedding logo” that can be carried through all of these pieces. It can range from a simple icon that represents you and your fiancé, a monogram (remember, don’t use your married monogram until after the ceremony!), a wedding crest, or simply playing up on the colors, typefaces, and papers used. The idea is to create a consistent look (the brand) throughout all of your wedding stationery.

What stationery items/decor pieces lend themselves to being personalized? Other than the obvious pieces like the save the dates and invitations, there are lots of other items that can be branded for your wedding. Leading up to the big day, if you are having a rehearsal dinner, those invitations can coordinate with your wedding invitations. For the weekend of your wedding, if you are doing welcome packets, you can have personalized thank you cards, itineraries, maps and other fun items personalized. For the wedding day itself, there are tons of different stationery options to brand, some of my normal requests can include, menus, programs, seating charts, table numbers place/escort cards, bar signage, welcome signs, and guest book signs. Some

of the other items that can be branded that aren’t commonly thought of to match your stationery design would be koozies, cocktail napkins, coasters, stick stirrers, acrylic cups, and match books. Do we have to pick just one design element? I would say yes and no. When working with a designer on your brand elements, you want to make sure everything flows from one piece to the next and is cohesive. There is nothing to say that if you love monograms and want a watercolor sketch of your venue, that you can’t make those two pieces work together. The colors, typefaces, and style can all complement each other so the two pieces are married together intentionally. The key is to trust your designer, and a good designer will voice their opinion on what they think may or may not work.

Where's the easiest place to start adding our personalized touches? As soon as you have nailed down the colors and style you’re wanting to symbolize your big day, you can start incorporating them into anything related to your wedding. Usually the first wedding piece that goes to your guests are your save the dates. I love to make these a “teaser” for your guests. They can be a snippet of what your actual invitation will look like, incorporating the colors and papers and scaling it back slightly so when they receive the invites, they have somewhat of an idea, but that wow factor is still there.

Along Came Stephanie is the culmination of over 20 years of experience in event planning and a lifelong dream of founder Stephanie Meiser. Her team is based in Naples and has been celebrated as one of the most sought-after boutique wedding planning and design companies in Southwest Florida.

Sometimes you don’t get the balmy 75-degree weather for your outdoor wedding. No fear. You can rely fully on your planner to ensure your desires are executed. We were only planning on having an outdoor ceremony, with an indoor reception. Any tips on making an indoor ceremony feel just as romantic after a "Plan B" call is made? First and foremost, make sure that you have seen the backup space in person. Once you have your ceremony design in place then you can work with your designer/ planner to have your "Plan B" design in place. If you are waiting to bring the outside in, you can consider renting hedge walls or tall plants as your ceremony back drop. If you need to cover up or soften walls you can use draping as well. Another key factor will be lighting. Does the back up space have natural light or will you need to bring in additional lighting? Don’t think that just because you are moving it inside that you can’t still use the same décor that you were using outside.

“There are times when a last minute decision is necessary to ensure your entire celebration isn’t ruined by the weather. In these cases, your trusted planner will ensure the 'Plan B' is executed as quickly as possible and the day moves ahead.”

What rental items, besides a tent, are we going to need to make our "Plan B" comfortable for guests? Take into consideration the weather: will you need heaters, A/C units, fans? Umbrellas are a must, especially if guests are moving locations. Don’t forget your creative partners either. Keep in mind that they will need to be undercover somehow as well. I can recall one wedding where we put "Plan B" into play several days before the wedding. Not only did we need a tent, but plywood and lots of towels. With the ground wet from days of rain, it was a quite muddy, even with the tent. We covered the low areas with plywood and placed large towels around as well. Wet, muddy ground doesn’t mix well with a dance floor. The weather might be the most unpredictable element of your day. Plan accordingly and prepare yourself emotionally if it happens to pour down rain. Your guests will look to you to see how you’re

handling the situation. It may not be your ideal day, but it doesn’t mean it has to stop you from enjoying the company of your family and friends. What if the weather is beautiful and I end up not needing the “Plan B” items I’ve reserved. Do I still have to pay for them? If so, is there a reduced rate? For the most part yes, you will need to pay for them if they are delivered. Sometimes tents can be held with a small deposit and if you end up not needing it you are only out your deposit. Keep in mind that, depending on the types of items rented, you can often times still incorporate them. This is where it comes down to having a trusted planner who has strong working relationships with the creative partners who will go above and beyond to make your day the best it can be.

Our outdoor reception was not designed around a tent. Any last-minute tent decor options that make our "Plan B" tent look like it was "Plan A" all along? Yes, especially with draping and lighting. Tents can be made to look like an outside garden with greenery and café lights, or an exquisite ballroom with draping and chandeliers. It’s important to note that a plain white tent might be less expensive, but it could require more décor to make it look beautiful. Whereas you can rent a nicer tent initially and save on the additional décor and draping. I will add here that more times than not, our "Plan B’s" have turned out better than "Plan A’s."

To say Wesley and Meredith’s wedding was “very Georgia” would be an understatement. Complete with peanuts, peaches, lace, and magnolia leaves, this fabulous Georgia themed wedding was everything the Atlanta couple could have hoped for, thanks to the talented planners at Kate and Campbell Weddings. And what better venue to host their event at than The Georgian Terrace? Wesley and Meredith began their special day with a traditional ceremony at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, just two blocks from the reception venue. From there, the bride and groom surely elicited some stares and cheers when they were escorted to the reception by the unforgettable brass band Wasted Potential, with their guests following not far behind. Meredith looked like a true southern belle in a stunning Pronovias gown with lace detail purchased from Sweet Elegance Bridal, shielding herself from the sun with a customized parasol. With touches of peach, navy, cream, and metallics in the floral arrangements designed by Faith Flowers, menu cards by Simply Put Paper, signage by Allison Blaisdell Design & Print and the linens, the decor of the reception was equally as breathtaking. Family and friends gave heartfelt speeches, toasted to the newlyweds, danced to live music, and enjoyed a delicious Frosted Pumpkin Gourmet, Inc. designed wedding cake almost too pretty to eat. For Audrey and Michael, matrimony was an unexpected but beautiful brush with destiny. The two tied the knot on a stunning October day at Agnes Scott College, their union graced by crisp air and endless sunshine. Audrey’s history with the college is rich; she completed her undergraduate degree on its campus and later returned to serve on the Alumnae Association Board and the Board of Trustees. Both Audrey and Michael work demanding jobs in the medical field, so their wedding planner, Khadine Springer of ellyB Events, became even more invaluable than usual with extra flexibility and guidance. The ceremony took place at the Julia Thompson Smith Chapel, with Audrey gilded in an ivory and gold mermaid gown from Bridals by Lori in Atlanta and her husband-to-be in a traditional black tuxedo from The Modern Gent. The wedding’s purple palette was picked up in the Matron of Honor’s lavender gown and the bouquet of hydrangeas, garden roses, tulips, and orchids. The couple’s reception was held in the college’s dining hall where the grand vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows were given a royal atmosphere by Andy Beach & Co. with an explosion of violet from flowers and decor. The five tiered cake, designed by The Cake Hag, featured five separate organic cake flavors and fillings, as well as floral and gold accents. A merry celebration with undeniable personality, Audrey and Michael’s wedding day was utterly unforgettable.

The shimmering string lights from St. Augustine’s annual Nights of Lights celebration made a stunning background for Liz and Jacob’s timeless winter wedding at The Treasury on the Plaza. As her future husband sipped on champagne, Liz slipped into a custom-made wedding gown featuring delicate long sleeves and a sexy, plunging back from Aurora Unique Bridal Boutique. Their classic affair began with a violinist playing wistfully as the beautiful bride floated down the aisle accompanied by both of her parents, where love shone as Liz met Jacob at the altar. Sentimentality radiated as the groom’s father officiated the ceremony, translated seamlessly into Spanish for a crowd of loved ones. Liz and Jacob exchanged heartfelt, personalized vows under spectacular white floral wall designed by the bride’s uncle, renowned New York florist Raul Avila Inc. After they said 'I do,' the newlyweds were whisked away to take portraits under the string lights as the ceremony space flawlessly transformed for the reception, executed by master planner Olivia Gonzalez. Guests enjoyed drinks and delectable hors d'evours whipped up by Jacksonville's Executive Food Service. After dinner, the couple’s personality shone as guests drank Colombian coffee with slices from the beautiful three tiered ruffled cake designed by Publix. DJ Steve O'Flaherty of New York Sounds DJ & Entertainment used Latin flair to keep energy high as everyone danced the night away in celebration, which eventually ended with a magical sparkler grand exit under a sea of lights as the newlyweds escaped to their happily ever after. The shimmering sun dawned bright on Kelly and Rod’s crisp April morning. The couple was unashamedly in love with spring in Atlanta and the fact that Kelly’s grandmother’s birthday fell in the middle of the season was just icing on the wedding cake. Kate Sasnett of Soiree Catering & Events, the couple’s invaluable wedding planner, designed a day that was distinctly Kelly and Rod, an intriguing concoction of antique and urban at Summerour Studio in the heart of Atlanta’s Westside. Kelly, draped in tulle over rose gold satin with a lace illusion top, descended the mahogany staircase to a paper runner on which were song lyrics written by Rod just for her. As they said their vows, the couple stood under a hanging floral installation blooming with ranunculus, creamy roses, lilac, and hellebores to match the bouquets. During the cocktail hour and reception, the vintage charm abounded with antique furniture and cake stands, plush greenery on farmhouse tables, and the architectural whimsy of the venue. The classic and time honored reception scene was a collaboration of Nuage Designs, Atlanta Event Decor, Events Unlimited, and I Do Linens. For Kelly and Rod, delicious, delectable food was a must-have and the food vendors and Sinful Sweets Catering delivered in excess. The eclectic buffet featured an Antipasti display from local meat and cheese purveyors, raw oysters from Kimball House, and Korean steamed buns from Simply Seoul Kitchen. Donuts and a variety of cakes rested on Kelly’s collection of antique cake stands for the completion of a meal that could only be described as decadent. After the meal was concluded, the DJ played rock classics that kept guests on their feet long into the night.

While the wind whispered through the Spanish moss and rustled the leaves of the plush shrubbery, Mercedes and Jeff said 'I do' on the grounds of Peachtree House in Orlando, Florida. The 1920s home has a way of imposing itself as grand and regal yet maintaining a gentle, comfortable peace that perfectly suited the couple’s desires. Rather than overwhelm the already stunning gardens of the ceremony space with bright neons and excess, the wedding party were quietly but elegantly garmented in ivory dresses and black tuxedos. The bride, in long-sleeved lace, held a pale but luxuriant gathering of anemone, seeded eucalyptus, and garden roses designed by Porch Therapy as she descended the brick steps toward her husband-to-be. The vows and well-wishes dispensed, Mercedes and Jeff retired with their 65 guests to an intimate reception in another garden area. The couples’ paper products, centerpieces, and chalk wine glasses came together with an organic but opulent reception, bursting with bright greenery and gold and ivory accents. A local restaurant, Yellow Dog Eats – one of the newlyweds’ favorites – catered a classic meal of pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, beef brisket, potatoes, and vegetables. After the meal of Southern delights, the couple cut into a naked cake designed by Sweeter Than the Rest while their guests enjoyed games at a personalized cornhole board and lively music on the dance floor. Emma and Richard knew the industrial atmosphere of The Engine Room, an old cotton mill, would be perfect for their Southern vintage wedding in rural Monroe. Summertime sunshine flowed into the room through large windows as Emma, ethereal in a custom-made gown from The Sentimentalist, floated down the petal-adorned aisle accompanied by her father. As the couple’s pastor officiated the ceremony, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows under a whimsical floating floral installation designed by Everything & More Wedding Planning and Florals. The bridesmaids, outfitted in mismatched coordinating frocks carried bouquets fetaturing punchy yellow tulips and ranunculus blooms. After the newlyweds were whisked off to take portraits, guests were treated to an outdoor cocktail hour that featured homemade snow cones to fend off the summer heat. Vintage and whimsy ran rampant in the industrial reception room that featured a thousand hand-made paper cranes strung to the reception room ceiling. For dinner, Endive Fine Catering treated guests to a Southern inspired menu that included delicious fried green tomatoes and a fun shrimp-n-grits buffet. After the cake was cut and traditional first dances were danced, Sam Hill Entertainment invited guests to bust a move and dance the night away in celebration. When the night came to an end, the expert planners from It Takes Two coordinated a sparkler grand exit, where the bride’s father’s antique Chevrolet Bel Air awaited the newlyweds. Scott and Ryane’s wedding was breezy, gorgeous and everything you could want in a destination wedding. Since the event was set in Ryane’s home state of Florida in Sarasota, many of their friends and family traveled all the way from Alabama to make the couple’s big day all that the two of them had dreamed of. With both the ceremony and reception set at Edson Keith Mansion, a beautiful waterfront wedding venue, they were only five minutes from the breathtaking sands of Siesta Key Beach. Ryane’s bridesmaids, dressed in floor length Jenny Yoo gowns from Bella Bridesmaids, stood close as the bride and groom said ‘I do’ in the outdoor ceremony officiated by the groom’s brother. Centered between the bride and groom stood a wooden cross, handmade by the bride's grandfather, expertly adorned with blooms by Isn't She Lovely Florals. While guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour on the lawn, Ashley Gruters of SRQtees Events transformed the venue into the couples’ dream wedding reception. After a delicious dinner from Milan Catering, friends and family danced, laughed, and sang along with Scott and Ryane to songs performed by Tim Tyler Piano Experience, an act that the couple was lucky enough to have join them all the way from where they met in Auburn, Alabama. Cakes by Ron created an unforgettable and delectably simple naked cake for the couple. The newlyweds also made sure to have some personal touches present, which was apparent in their wedding favors from Carpe Diem, a coffee shop in Mobile, Alabama, the town where they began their married life. The ceremony took place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta, Georgia where the couple incorporated two important marriage rites – the Tying of the Thaali and the Blessing of the Manthradoki – that stem from the Syro-Malabar sect of Catholicism. Irene, in a striking off-the-shoulder lace gown by Allure Bridals from Affordable Bridal, held a lush bundle of white peonies, Juliet roses, and seeded eucalyptus designed by Bloomin’ Bouquets. Her husband-to-be was greeted by his nephew carrying a sign down the aisle that read ”Uncle Justin, here comes your bride” as he stood grinning at the front of the church in a tuxedo from The Modern Gent. After the rites had been performed, the wedding party took in the sights from a historic Marietta Trolley on their ride over to the reception where Atlanta’s Piedmont Room served as an elegant backdrop to the stormy blue, blush, and gold of the towering floral centerpieces and distinctive personal details. Band of Gold kept even the wallflowers on their feet and a delectable taco buffet gave much needed energy to the late night dancers. For Betsy and Michael, family comes first. So instead of a destination wedding (that could have been difficult for relatives to attend), the Florida native couple decided to have their wedding five minutes from where they both grew up – right at home in Orlando, Florida. The day began at Betsy’s childhood church where the couple said 'I do' in front of 200 friends and family members. Betsy joined her husband-to-be at the altar wearing an ivory lace illusion dress and carrying a luscious arrangement of ranunculus, roses and garden roses, and peonies designed by Lee James Floral Designs, Inc. Michael and his groomsmen had donned classic black tuxedos while the bridesmaids wore floor length champagne dresses. After the ceremony, the couple followed guests to Isleworth Golf & Country Club for a lakeside reception. The clear tent under which the festivities commenced was decorated to the nines with fabric draping and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The farmhouse tables were adorned with runners lush greenery and flora abounded with abandon. Guests sat down to a delicious meal before the couple cut their almond and carrot cake designed by the venue. While the newlyweds took their first dance, the bride’s parents surprised them with an artist painting a portrait of the unforgettable moment. After the couple exited the dance floor, the Leonard Brothers Band struck up a lively tune and the guests danced long into the evening. You might never expect traditional Southern to come together with Ecuadorian, but that’s just what happened when Hollie and José fell in love. When the boy from Ecuador and his Georgia peach vacationed in Savannah one month before they got engaged, matrimonial decisions were already in the works. The city provided a multi-cultural backdrop that suited both their histories and enchanting venues abounded. So more than a year later, the ceremony took place on a warm April day at Whitehall Chapel, whose grounds are shadowed by ancient pines, dripping with Spanish moss. The bride stunned in a customized lace Matthew Christopher dress with a sweetheart neckline and beading at the waist. The wedding party carried lush arrangements of white peonies, caramel antike garden roses, white ranunculus, white anemones, champagne roses and Italian ruscus designed by Harvey Designs. The floral and culinary decadence of the reception was dotted with precious details that celebrated a meeting of cultures. Their cocktail hour featured a special cocktail named "José and the Georgia peach” on napkins that said “Salud Y’all” and later on Hollie surprised her new husband with a “Team A” marquee decorating the dance floor. Late into the night, beats flourished courtesy of DJ Fernando Silva of Lethal Rhythms. Classic Southern elements of lace, magnolias, and timeless wedding traditions were kept modern with glamourous like playful calligraphy by Lowcountry Paper Co., salsa dancing, and never-ending sparkle. Sunshine filtered through a magnificent oak tree as guests shared in Caitlyn and Matt’s becoming one in holy matrimony on a summer day at Bowing Oaks Plantation in Jacksonville, Florida. The bride turned to Dawn from The Wedding Authority to help plan her perfect day, which included rustic elements and vintage decor. Natural elegance shone, as the bridal party’s finishing touches included not only barefoot sandles but also wax flower ivy crowns designed by Jade Violet Wedding & Event Floral Boutique. Emotions were high as Caitlyn walked down the aisle accompanied by her father as her groom broke down in happy tears. While sentimentality radiated as the groom’s father officiated the couple’s 'I do’s,' music performed by the groom’s sister and twin brother gave special meaning to the ceremony. After Matt kissed his bride, the newlyweds were off to take photos as guests made their way into the indoor reception, which featured rustic farm tables and gorgeous white draping from Coastal Celebrations. After the bride and groom’s grand entrance, everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner whipped up by Davioli’s Catering. Later DJ Joey announced the father-daughter dance, where guests were tricked into thinking the music cut off in the middle of the dance, where the bride and her father transitioned into a choreographed routine that stole the show! Despite an unexpected downpour, Anna and Russell’s wedding day could not have been more joyous. The couple chose Vinewood Plantation for their venue because it was near the town that they had grown up in and the gorgeous plantation home offered the perfect backdrop for their classically elegant Southern wedding. The originally planned outdoor ceremony relocated to a barn on the grounds in order to avoid being drenched, but the change couldn’t dampen the mood. Strings of twinkling lights and gorgeous bundles of flowers arranged by florist and day-of-coordinator Mary McLeod of Amy Osaba Events created a cozy atmosphere in which the couple could exchange their vows. Anna locked eyes with her husband-to-be as she glided down the aisle in a tulle ballgown with a lace bodice from The White Magnolia in Atlanta. As her maternal grandfather officiated, she clutched Russell’s hand and a lush arrangement of peonies, English garden roses, ranunculus, and scabiosa in a pink, mauve, and violet palette. In the seamless transition from ceremony to reception, the couple served a variety of Georgia beers for their cocktail hour. A celebration of the newlyweds’ shared Southern culture, the reception abounded with fried chicken, pulled pork, green beans, and sweet tea all provided by Elegant Expressions. Instead of the traditional large, multi-tiered wedding cake, the couple opted for a cake buffet by Southern Sweets Bakery with eight different options of flavors. From gifts of homemade rosé and strawberry jam to a ceremony written entirely by the couple themselves, Anna and Russell’s day was nothing short of a timeless and unashamedly personal commemoration of their love. Planning a wedding from afar is never easy, but Polly, Tanner, and their team at NK Productions pulled theirs off with flying colors. The Washington, D.C. couple chose the Oaks Club in Osprey, Florida as their wedding venue for the abundance of sunshine and the inescapable air of relaxation. The ceremony took place on the grounds, between two palm trees and overlooking a lake while flora abounded on urns and pedestals and dainty vases on the backs of chairs. Bridesmaids were adorned in pale, nearly-white, pink gowns under the watchful eyes of 130 of the couple’s friends and family. Polly drifted gracefully down the aisle in a stunning fitted lace Reem Acra gown while her husband waited with bated breath in a classic black tuxedo. Custom paper products crafted by Yao Cheng proliferated throughout the day and coordinated their white, blue, green, and pink palette with the lush peonies, hydrangeas, and garden roses arranged by Elegant Designs. Guests gathered on the croquet lawn for hors d'oeuvres and custom cocktails before making their way to an upstairs ballroom for a stylishly refined reception. Everyone was treated to a sit down meal provided by the club, toasts were made and happy tears were shed. The new husband and wife stood up and cut a piece of their magnificent five-tier wedding cake and mounted the dance floor for their first dance. Once the heart-felt traditions concluded, the music gained traction and the floor never lacked occupants. A classically country club wedding, Polly and Tanner’s day swelled with elegance and love. ABOUT OUR WEDDING BEST. DAY. EVER! Pete and I got married on July 6, 2013 in Piedmont Park and I can not possibly put into words how spectacular it was. You know the kind of happiness that strikes you speechless and if you're actually able to get a phrase out it sounds like a fast talking chipmunk with a mouth full of peanut butter squealing!? That’s how I feel about our wedding. The events spanned over three days, kicking off with none other than the Peachtree Road Race. Together we bolted down the streets of Atlanta with some pals (including our wedding planner Alyssa Olson from Sashay Creative Events) and 60,000 other folks! We love to run, so this was the perfect start to our official life together! Over the next few days we soaked up family and friends – enjoying the spotty sunshine and letting the showers roll through the July skies! Can you believe it? Those wonderful little rain drops kept it to a cool 75 degrees! Amazing for an Atlanta summer! By the time Saturday rolled around my heart was so full it could have burst! I felt so dag-gone lucky! BEST WEDDING PL ANNING ADVICE Hire a killer planner and vendors you trust! After that trust them to do their jobs and you focus on the important part – marrying your best friend! WORDS OF WISDOM FOR A HAPPY MARRIAGE Just hold on tight (sometimes the best moments are the ones you are not able to plan for!). Love fiercely.
