Mariel Bildsten started playing the trombone in fifth grade. After high school, she moved to New York City to pursue her jazz studies at The New School and has been performing in the greater New York-New Jersey area ever since. Bildsten will lead a septet paying tribute to the music of Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
