FLORIDA HISTORIC CAPITAL MUSEUM Since 1845 the Historic Capitol has symbolised Florida state government. The Historic Capitol stands as an icon at the centre of Florida’s Capitol complex. Under the stained-glass dome, political history and tradition come alive in the exhibits. Serving to illuminate the past, present and future connections between the people of Florida and their political institutions. Through photographs and audio-visual displays, visitors experience the people and events that have shaped Florida today.

ST MARKS LIGHTHOUSE Travel back to the 1820’s when the town of St. Marks, Florida, was considered an important port of entry. Serving as a port for the planting region of Middle Florida and some counties of South Georgia. Growers hauled agricultural products down to the port town in wagons and by 1829 a tower was constructed to help navigate through the shallow waters and thus, St. Marks lighthouse.

DAY 7-14: ST AUGUSTINE

Where better to spend the last week of your holiday than St. Augustine? St Augustine lays claim to being the oldest city in the U.S. and is known for its Spanish colonial architecture as well as Atlantic Ocean beaches like sandy St. Augustine Beach and tranquil Crescent Beach. Take photos as you experience history, building memories in the oldest city in the United States. With so much to do here, it no surprise you will need longer. Stop at Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, which is the oldest masonry fortification in the U.S. interpreting more than 450 years of cultural intersections.

DEVIL’S MILLHOPPER GEOLOGICAL STATE PARK IN GAINESVILLE This National Natural Landmark has attracted curious visitors since the 1880s. Among North Florida’s sandy terrain and pine forests, you will find a bowl-shaped cavity 120-ft deep down to a miniature rain forest. Lush vegetation thrives in the shade of the walls even in a dry summer. Visitors can feed their curiosity and learn more about the sinkhole through interpretive displays. A great place to escape the lights and noise of the city and truly experience nature.

ST AUGUSTINE ALLIGATOR FARM Thrilling discoveries await at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, a story more than 100 years in the making. It began in the late 19th century as a small exhibition of Florida’s famous reptiles and soon became a quintessential Florida attraction.
