oceanSTYLE What’s your #1 make-up obsession? I am constantly falling in love with new products and have a new beauty obsession every day. At the moment, I’m loving any and all Oribe hair products (they smell so good!), but I have my tried and true staples that never disappoint. Mac Ruby Woo is a fun red lipstick that always brightens my mood, and I never go anywhere without my Anastasia brow gel (I have a bit of an eyebrow obsession).

Which fashion designers do you most love wearing? I recently wore a dress from American designer Michael Costello. His gowns are so beautiful and can make anyone feel like a million bucks.

Who is your fashion icon? I absolutely LOVE Audrey Hepburn and her elegant, timeless style.

How would you describe your fashion style? Simple. I feel best in understated styles, and I’m not one to over accessorize. I follow the rule of always removing one more accessory before leaving the house. What’s next for you? Exciting new up and coming projects? 2015 is going to be a busy year for me, so right now, I’m taking the time to enjoy the moment!

Ocean’s cover girl, Olivia Culpo, shares her style secrets, fashion icons, beauty musthaves and what’s next on her horizon.

What has been your favorite fashion moment? I know these stories are a bit clichéd, but I had a dress disaster this year right before the VMA’s and 15 minutes before leaving the house, I threw on a dress my friend had left in my closet. It ended up being my favorite red carpet moment because I LOVED the dress. It was inexpensive but classic. It’s refreshing to know you can still feel confident in an outfit without having to spend a ton of money or time to make it work. oceanmagazine.com – 18

“Y

ou make your first and last impression with your outerwear,” reminds fashion stylist Michel Onofrio. “A good coat makes a good outfit.” When you’re filling your closet, it’s all about balance and lifestyle. You should have a coat for every season and at least one fancy coat for special occasions. Every woman needs a trench – they look great and they’re always in fashion, confirms a representative from Saks Fifth Avenue in Mission Viejo. You also need a wool peacoat, a leather jacket, a long coat (for trips to New York), a light spring jacket and an all season, all weather coat, she says. If you’re a skier, you’ll need a warm parka as well to keep toasty on the slopes. As for color, Onofrio suggests that you stick with darks. “When in doubt, choose black,” she says. “It stays cleaner.” Even if your choices are simple and monochrome, Onofredo says you can make the most classic coat fashion-forward by adding accessories like a thick leather belt with hardware. This season, outerwear makes bold fashion statements ranging from sleek and modern to luxurious detail. Balenciaga’s egg shapes and Ferretti’s rounded rectangle were positively geometric, as were the countless A-lines that traipsed down the runway like triangles. If it wasn’t geometric, it was opulent. Romantic poet sleeves, embellishment, leopard print, and fur trim snubbed stealth wealth in favor of fabulous. And with Napoleonic complex evident, models marched in gold-buttoned military coats, with none so coveted as Dolce & Gabbana’s $85,000 stunner. Outerwear was the story of the season. So zip up and find the coat that will round out your closet. oceanmagazine.com – 20

FUR TRIM

Fur added a liberal dose of luxury to trenches, jackets, coats and sweater-coats detailing necks, wrists and hemlines. Fur trim doesn’t have to be real to be on-trend either. Faux fur works well at capturing the look and is easier on the bank account. Key Looks: Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Wunderkind, Sue Wong, Pucci, Derek Lam and Prada.

CINCHED WAISTS

This look is all about the trench. Meshing a masculine cut with feminine curves, the chunky belts pulled taught around the waist makes one of the most seen silhouettes of the season. Key Looks: Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Fendi, Tuleh, Hermes, Andrew Gn, Louis Verdad, Meghan, and of course Burberry who makes the shape an art form.

VOLUME

Designers pumped up the volume with slouchy layers, mega collars, poet sleeves and exaggerated shapes: cocoons, balloons, rectangles and A-lines. Key Looks: Balenciaga is the master of this trend, but others like Alberta Ferretti, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Akris, Kenzo, Tsumori Chisato, Comme des Garcons, Hermes, Oscar de la Renta and Celine also took a walk on the wide side.

21 – Holiday 2014/2015

MILITARY

It was a costume drama on the catwalks. Theatrical coats with period-looking hardware and embellishment brought the house down. Key Looks: Dolce and Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Malo, Chanel, Taverniti So Jeans, Comme des Garcons, Kenzo.

ENGLISH COUNTRY

You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t keep her from coming back to the tartan, hound’stooth, and herringbone. Capelets, short coats and long fur-trimmed jackets featured these country prints. Key looks: DSquared, L.A.M.B., Balenciaga, Burberry, Aquascutum, Morphine Generation, Antik Denim, Chulo Pony.

STREET STYLE

Functional coats with attitude betray a city girl. Leather, shearling and all weather coats are the weapons of choice against the winter weather for the urban chic. Key looks: Dior, Prada Sport, Junya Watanabe, Kevan Hall, Daks, Akris, John Galliano, Andrew Marc, Hermes, Diesel, Yigal Azrouel.

DINE

The Imperial Casablanca Hotel’s foundations lie in its rich historical heritage. The building was first constructed as an American Army Headquarters during WWII. After peace was implemented, the establishment was frequently visited by Netherlands royalty. Keeping in the tradition of royalty and luxury, the building was then renovated into the current magnificent hotel, holding its roots with Art Deco interior designs, winding staircases, stylish lighting, gorgeous plant life, and tall colonnades.

The Imperial Casablanca Hotel’s fine dining restaurant, the MARIUS, is a trendy modern bistro featuring foods from all over the world. With international recipes composed by a talented chef, the MARIUS offers gastronomic cuisine with one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The hotel also offers a bar that encompasses the indoors and outdoors. Delicious cocktails and hand-picked music provide a place to relax after a day of touring or shopping.

The Imperial Casablanca Hotel offers a variety of rooms and suites, each complete with marbled shower and bath, flat screen TV, and minibar. The Hotel’s priority for each room is a calm and tranquil atmosphere, emphasized by its soft lighting and spacious environment. The Deluxe Rooms are pristine and modern, while the Junior Suites offer an office area for those mixing a little business with their pleasure and a lounge for relaxation. The Imperial Suite is the pride of the hotel, not only offering a lounge and office area, but a living room and dining room as well.

Dar Ayniwen is a space devoted to serenity and wellbeing, and offers exclusivity and tranquility just a few minutes from the Old City of Marrakesh. It is situated in an isolated corner of the grounds and possesses its own private garden and Jacuzzi. Trekkers and hiking enthusiasts will be pleased to find that the island can be circumnavigated in about a day and scuba divers and snorkelers will find exceptional underwater expeditions in the Ang Thong National Marine Park. Alexander Wang Fendi

Giorgio Armani

The characteristically indecisive Libra won’t have to decide between pants or a skirt – they can wear both this fall! Scorpios tend to be refined, serious and poised – and certainly won’t shy away from making a dramatic statement. Their shoulders are just asking to be adorned with a classic cape, like the ones that went down the Valentino and Saint Laurent runways.

Prada

Altuzarra

What better way to brighten a dreary fall day than with small doses of neon, as seen in Altuzarra and Alexander Wang’s fall lines. With personalities as bright and fearless as this color tone, Sagittarius might be the sign most capable of pulling off this look.

Rag & Bone

Emilio Pucci

Cancers are quick to get behind any trend that speaks to their domestic, comfort-craving side. And the Nordic-inspired knits that graced the Pucci and Rag & Bone runways just beg to be worn while curled up by a fireplace, making them a Crab’s ideal fall wardrobe staple.

Chanel

Edun

Practical Capricorns won’t have to sacrifice style or comfort when they rock a pair of souped-up sneakers. Just look at the models who effortlessly strutted down runways for Chanel, DKNY and Edun’s runways in this smart, yet chic, footwear.

Christopher Kane

Rebecca Taylor

We may be a long way from spring, but that shouldn’t stop straight-laced Virgo from donning shimmering pastel hues. For maximum impact, this practical but girly sign may want to wear the subtle tones head to toe, as seen on the Christopher Kane and Rebecca Taylor runways.

Burberry

DKNY

Creative, artsy Pisces tends towards looks that mine flea markets and runways alike. As adaptable as they are, a blanket coat will keep them warm while also creating a sophisticated silhouette, as seen at Burberry and DKNY. In other words, this isn’t your grandma’s Snuggie.
