How do women deal with a cheating husband? That seems to have been a common theme in the past year, and I wonder whether affairs are becoming more prevalent or women are just becoming smarter. I have received quite an education by my patients into the world of high tech, and what aids are available to catch their husbands in lies, either about their whereabouts or their conversations with another woman. Today’s women are becoming supersleuths, and with the aid of Radio Shack and Amazon, there is almost nothing that can go undetected. I’ve had patients admit that they’ve hidden voice activated tape recorders under the seat of their mate’s vehicle, and been able to hear at least his side of what I would consider detailed evidence of infidelity. Then there’s the phone tracker, which will determine if, in fact, the husband actually went to Home Depot like he said he was going to do, or if he met someone at a hotel or even worse, a private residence. Google map certainly can identify with accuracy down to the exact address where hubby is, and Google search can find out plenty with that information. Then, of course, there are nannycams, set up in hidden locations around the house, if someone is so blatant as to bring someone into the marital home. That, more than any other infraction, is almost always the deal breaker in marital therapy. It is not legal in the state of Florida to audio record someone without their permission, but that hasn’t stopped anyone when they are on the hunt to see or find out what their husband is up to. Then, one would think that many women would confront their husbands 14

immediately, but that would not be the case. Many women wait in the wings, gathering evidence, somehow locking their emotions away while they complete their investigation. Men know this. They’ve heard the horror stories from their buddies, who have been caught, but nonetheless, the dumb ones persevere. Then, once caught, they beg forgiveness, promising to mend their ways. Unfortunately, this is not the dark ages where women had to silently play the hand they were dealt. In today’s world, women are fed up and ready to walk out the door. They calculate the amount of dirty socks they have plucked from the floor, how many sheets they have changed, dinners they have prepared and dishes they have washed, and then, like a cancer, the anger spreads until the pleading for another chance often goes unnoticed. Men underestimate women. They don’t understand that even the most subtle change in their behavior raises a red flag, and the detective hat is on. Women do not want to splinter a family unit, but more than that, they don’t want to be played for a fool. For a therapist, this is where the waters muddy. It is difficult to watch families dissolve because of poor judgment. Sometimes women are willing to forgive, but they will never forget and nothing will ever be the same. he Performing Arts Academy of Jupiter is truly a labor of love. During the summer of 2013, Atlantic Arts Academy, which had been in existence for 10 years, suddenly went out of business. That is when Trina Ginossi decided to take action. For 8 of those 10 years, her own children had taken classes there, in everything from guitar to dance and acting. They loved it, so when its doors closed, Ginossi decided to keep it alive for them and the hundreds of other kids in the community who loved to perform. For the next 11 months, the almost 10,000 square foot space sat vacant. Ginossi began to round up the previous teachers and seek out investors. She finally teamed up with another mom, Monica Leonhardt, whose children had also taken classes at the previous studio. Together, with their families, they brought the studio back to life. They chose the name Performing Arts Academy of Jupiter. “We are about all of the performing arts and community”, 46 says. Vol. 431 D Ginossi

Trina, her husband, Alex, Monica, and her husband, Erich teamed up over the summer to prepare for a grand opening in the fall of 2014. “That was a long year.” says Ginossi. However, Performing Arts Academy of Jupiter is going strong and now, several years later, not only have previous Atlantic Arts students returned, but they also have many newcomers.

several TV shows, commercials, and is a working actor, as well as a founding member of the very popular Improv troupe, The JOVE. Jeff Harding, head of music department/guitar teacher, has a band and performs locally. “They all work professionally in their area,” Ginossi explains. The students come for the teachers. “They each have their own following’” she adds.

The Performing Arts Academy of Jupiter also offers many special events. Each year, they put on a dance showcase, 2 music showcases, 2 acting showcases, and 2 musical theater shows. Recently, the musical theater company put on shows like Grease, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, that left audiences raving. They will perform Little Shop of Horrors in March 2018. Dance company members perform in many community events throughout the year, including, Italian fest, Artigras, and Turtle fest as well as a couple of local competitions. The acting company also performs twice a year. In December, they will perform the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol.

She states that all of the owners brought the studio back to life out of a shared love for the arts. “I grew up dancing my whole life and when I had my own children, I wanted them to have a love for the arts as well.” She goes on, “What do I love the most? Watching all of these kids from the community embrace the arts and call this place their home.”

Together with their husbands, Ginossi and Leonhardt all have full-time jobs outside of the studio, so they need to work together for things to run smoothly. They each have their own special skills that they bring to the table. “I could have never done this by myself,” Ginossi explains. “Everybody is working for one goal. We truly have a great team!” she adds.

Ginossi was born and raised in south Florida, while her husband, Alex is from southern California. Together, they moved to Jupiter in the early 1990’s. “We love Jupiter” she says. Her partners, Monica and Erich are also from Florida and have resided in Jupiter for about the same amount of time.

Why do they do it? “It’s truly a labor of love,” Ginossi explains. “When I see all those children and teens and adults moving from class to class, I always stop and think, ‘this is awesome!’ Because those students would have had nowhere else to go, or maybe would have gone somewhere less special.” She adds. “If I had it all to do over again, I would definitely do it again, in a heartbeat! This place was too special to let it go,” Ginossi concludes.

The Performing Arts Academy also boasts a 150-seat theater which is home to The JOVE improve comedy troupe. They also offer live standup comedians, such as well-known comics like Bobby Collins and Mark Price. Recently, they hosted a sold out acoustic guitar concert for music enthusiasts coming from all over the state of Florida. “We want to be known as a community theater staple in Jupiter. It’s an intimate venue and there are no bad seats.” Ginossi says.

The most recent that I have seen was done by Trinity University and is called “The Trinity Study”. The underlying premise is that if certain withdrawal rates could provide lifetime income based on historical market data and returns then the withdrawal rate will also be sustainable in the future. I have reviewed this study and while it makes many great points, no study is foolproof when it comes to investing. Everyone has a different situation and each portfolio should be tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. “The Trinity Study” runs scenarios based on asset allocation between stock, bonds, and cash during retirement taking withdrawals at percentage rates ranging from 3 to 12 percent. One thing is certain there is no absolute correct answer.

For a portfolio to be successful during retirement, the proper allocation is the most crucial factor. Most professionals will tell you that withdrawal rate between 4-6% of the portfolio value are where you need to be throughout your retirement years to minimize the risk of running out of money. I am here to tell you there is no magic number and your portfolio as well as your withdrawal rate needs to
