A cute way to decorate your home this season that won’t break the budget!
When it comes to wanting cute fall decor for our homes, all too often we get swept up into the idealizations shown to us on social media, especially Instagram. Bloggers with brand partnerships who have been given all of this super cute (and usually expensive) fall decor for free and then post and often pressure you into buying their promo products so you don’t fall behind any of the “trends”. Well, let me help to take the pressure off: No, you are not a bad person or parent or family member if your home is not picture perfect for fall and no, cute fall decor does not have to be what you see online and it does not have to be expensive.
What is the most important thing to remember when it comes to shopping for your home decor this fall season? Buy what you like. It doesn’t matter if it’s trendy or popular, if it makes you happy and it is within your means, buy it. So where are some of the best places to purchase fall decor on a budget? Here is a quick little list:
1. TJ Maxx / Home Goods / Marshall’s More often than not, this will be the most
common answer you get when it comes to shopping for anything related to home decor. A word of caution: while I am a major supporter of all of the stores listed above, please be aware that not everything will be affordable. The great thing about these stores is that they can be a gold mine, but to find a good treasure it can take a bit of searching and digging. If you are up for the challenge and have the time, this is a great place to start!
2. Target Dollar Spot
This is without a doubt one of my favorite places to pick up small accent pieces for my fall decor. Will I find wreaths or doormats here? No. But, it is the perfect place to find cute accent pumpkins, greenery and signs all for less than $5. If you’re lucky, there are sometimes the cutest blankets and candles too!
3. The Dollar Tree
Last, but certainly not least, is the Dollar Tree. Most people write this one off because they consider it to be low quality and “below their standards.” When you want a great deal and some cute decor, nothing should be below your standards. While the quality of Dollar Tree items isn’t top tier, it is perfectly reasonable for some seasonal decor. I have had decor from the Dollar Tree that has lasted me season after season and was totally worth my $1. They also have awesome cards for 50 cents or $1!
4. The Christmas Tree Shop
While Christmas is in the name, do not let this place fool you because they have the cutest fall decor. With pieces for every color scheme imaginable, this is the perfect place to start your journey. With prices very similar to TJ Maxx and affiliates, you can find high end looking pieces for low end prices. I love to visit this store for floral accents and the variety of

pumpkin accents they have at this time of the year. Also, if you’re a baker like myself, they have the most affordable and tasty baking mixes available and spices!
I hope this post has inspired you to step out of your comfort zone this fall and not fall into the Influencer trap that is Instagram. Keep everything within your means and buy what makes you truly happy, because at the end of the day, no one is going to spend more time in your home and see your decor than you are. I have shared some pictures of my home decor finds from this year, if you have any questions about them, feel free to head over to my Instagram page and message me: @dressedinblessings. Happy Fall everyone!
