2. Is there a story behind the name of your business? I wanted a name that would glorify God. He is Glorious and He is Light. 3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/ designer? A friend allowed me to join her art class, I fell in love with it and I told her I wish I could do this for a living..she said, "you can". I then branched out doing many, many other types of crafts. Then I found glass art and I knew that was the medium I wanted to pursue.

4.Where do you draw your inspiration? I draw my inspiration from many different things. But mostly from the glass itself. The dichroic glass comes in many styles, patterns and colors. I never know how a piece is going to turn out until I have fused it. Opening the kiln is like Christmas morning.. 5. What’s your favorite item to create? My favorite would be the fused glass.

Springtime Photo Ops WITH YOUR BFF'S
Whether you're taking photos with a phone, as most of us are, or an actual camera, there's no shortage of places in the OS to explore. Especially during the milder months. But tbh, some just lend themselves more to pics for social (media) better than others. You know, because it's all about those WOW! moments and captures. Here then are a few must-motor-over-to's for this Spring. (Yeah, it's here technically, on the calendar and all, but it's not really here HERE yet, so keep these in mind for peak April and May.)

were lucky enough to get a tour of the rooftop of the Westminster Lofts, which houses the private gardens for both Gracie's and sister bakery down the street, Ellie's. But it was an especially cold and gray day, and my photos reflect that. If you can somehow finagle (mean that in the best possible way) an invite this Spring, it's right up there with Wicked Tulip (more about that in a sec) in terms of cachet. Also, if someone can unlock the mystery of James Cameron having an apartment in that building, by all means. I mean, has he ever even once been spotted having coffee at Small Point?
2, also RI's Golden Ticket for photogs and bloggers of every variety during the month of May. So glad we got advance tix back in February because that Wicked Tulip window can close pretty quickly. Leaving you with a severe case of FOMO. And without a single farmhouse lifestyle chic photo to speak of. And, even if you can get your hands on any tickets, fingers crossed weather and light are on your side. Example, last Spring we bought tickets for Sunrise Tulip (Exactly as it sounds, be there for the first light of day.). At some point during the super early morning hours, the heavy rain began falling. We still motored over - as did a lot of other people, attired in rainboots (extra points if yours are Hunter's!) and jackets - and took dozens of photos, but clear skies would have been ideal. •

a few that go well together, and then mix and match accent pieces from different centuries and styles. This gives the room an eclectic touch, while still having that really nonchalant vibe that goes with minimalism.
This is an area where I, admittedly, do not inherently shine. It can be really hard to picture how something is going to look paired with your existing belongings, especially when you aren’t even in the room where said piece is going to go. So, I’ve decided to start small with a vintage mirror (swiped from my parents’ attic), sleek jewelry box, and unique match strike to go with some candles. WHILE I DO LOVE THE MINIMAL AESTHETIC, it’s
important to not go too minimal, otherwise you might end up looking like you live in an insane asylum. Having at least one unique piece that’s full of character helps bring the room back to life. This sort of overlaps with the previous rule, but I thought it was worth calling out specifically. Personally, I love a good unique and sculptural lighting fixture. I’ve always though a good lamp or chandelier spices up a minimal room just like a good bag spices up a minimal outfit. It’s just kind of meh, and then all of a sudden you are dressed. Yes, I’m hearing myself make this comparison. Hopefully I’m not the only one who thinks of everything as a version of getting dressed. •

subaru Impreza
If you’re looking for a compact that lasts for years and will keep you and your family safe through the suddenly changing New England weather, the 2018 Subaru Impreza might be just right for you. The only vehicle in its class with all-wheel drive, it provides exception handling on dry, wet and icy roads. That can mean a lot when storms make highways slick or load them with unexpected amounts of snow. Consumer Reports and Kelly Blue Book surveys consistently find that Subaru owners are happy with their cars.
The Impreza is one of only 15 vehicles to earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating. It earned an outstanding overall 5-star crash test rating. The Subaru Impreza is a very structurally sound vehicle. As you’ll see in this article’s Conclusion, that particular quality can make a big difference in keeping you and your family safe. Its interior is roomy for a compact, comfortably seating 4 averagesized adults and a child.
OVERALL QUALITY AND CONSTRUCTION
In 2017, Subaru engineers increased the car’s structural rigidity by a whopping 70%. Its strong frame allows it to handle the kind of potholes that are all too common in New England these days. A 2016 comparison of vehicles still in operation after 10 years found that the Subaru Impreza is the longest-lasting vehicle in its class. The new upgrade to its structural integrity can only help increase its considerable longevity. 28 OCE A N S TAT E MAY 2018

INTERIOR
The Impreza’s interior is comfortable and ergonomically efficient. The instrument panel layout eliminates blind spots. Drivers will find controls easy to use. The cabin is spacious for a compact, with 99.8 cubic feet of room in the sedan and up to 100.9 cubic feet in the hatchback. It will fit 4 adults and one child comfortably. With a hump in the middle, adding a fifth adult or teen is pushing this model beyond its level of comfort.
PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING
The Subaru Impreza’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. Its acceleration is not high-performance. This is a family vehicle primarily engineered for safety, good handling and reliability. That’s exactly how it performs and feels. The Impreza’s handling is outstanding. The Boxer engine features horizontally-opposed cylinders, in contrast to the vertical cylinders found in most engines. This means that Subaru engines sit lower and provide a lower center of gravity than other engines. This contributes to exceptional stability on straightaways and turns.
to cut power and help avoid a frontal collision, lane departure alert and adaptive cruise control to automatically maintain a safe distance from other drivers in your lane • Blind Spot Detection • Reverse Automatic Braking to detect and avoid collisions when backing up • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, using radar to warn you of approaching traffic crossing behind you when backing up • STARLINK Safety and Security system, including stolen vehicle recovery, and automatic collision notification • Hands Free Text Messaging allows drivers to stay in touch on the road as safely as if they were talking to another passenger. Drivers can dictate spoken text messages, which are sent as regular text messages. Written replies are read out loud to the driver, who can instruct the system how to respond
CONCLUSION
The Subaru Impreza is well designed for modestsized New England families. Though not engineered for speed enthusiasts, it performs well in situations a family or commuter will often encounSPECIAL SAFETY FEATURES ter.
