Welcome to the Oceantide Entertainments Academy Workshop This course guide will give you an overview of what our academy has to offer. Whether you are a parent looking for a place where your child can learn purposeful skills in acting, or whether you're someone looking for a practical, part-time acting course that leads to an accredited degree level qualification, we cater for every need when it comes to performance training. Our curriculum has been designed and written by professionals who work in the industry, some of whom are regular tutors at the UK's most prestigious drama schools. Therefore, you can always be sure that your training with Oceantide Entertainments will be the most relevant, exciting and up-to-date!

foundation workshop (below 11yrs)

The workshops are so FUN!!!

Emphasis is placed on the idea of 'play' in the foundation workshop. This group plays with stories re-enacting events and having fun. Here, we introduce students to the rawest form of performing.

This workshop takes a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching performing skills by combining the use of music, movement and drama. Students on the foundation workshop will work towards staging one musical every year. There are always regular opportunities to see students work at the end of term showcases. Skills taught at this workshop are not only useful for performing, they're also useful for life and at school.

junior workshop (11 to 13yrs)

Basic performance skills are taught in the Junior Workshop. This workshop encourages students to be confident and articulate individuals. The Junior Workshop introduces work on text, improvisation and basic stage craft. Students will become familiar with the language of theatre and start to learn basic skills in acting, singing and movement. Students learn how to interpret and perform various texts and begin to learn the basic principles of devising. Performances, both formal and informal, are a regular occurrence for this group. All students will be given the chance to begin to work towards an accredited qualification in acting and performing arts.

senior workshop (14 to 17yrs)

I learn more at this workshop than anywhere else!

The senior workshop introduces students to more advanced performance skills. This workshop encourages students to connect with the world and people around them to create their own inspiring and creative theatre. Students are introduced to key acting techniques such as those developed by Stanislavski and work on various weird and wonderful theatrical genres. We also help this group get to grip with classical text including Shakespeare. Performances are a regular occurrence with the Senior Workshop. Many performances being those devised by the students themselves. Opportunities often arise for this group to perform at various local festivals. The Master Workshop is an intensive, parttime course which allows you to learn an actors craft as part of a working theatre company. This course enables you to work towards accredited, degree level performance diplomas assessed by one of the UK's leading performing arts institutions; Trinity College London.

master workshop (18yrs +)

How will I learn? Your learning of specific skills will be project based with an underlining set of conditioning classes in voice, movement and acting technique. All subjects are taught by industry professionals. Who is this course for? Expert training at an affordable price! This course is for anyone who wants to break into the field of acting. The course is part-time and so many uni students find the course useful whilst also studying their degree.

Performances & Qualifications Whilst on the course, you will be part of many different productions which will be staged in many different settings and locations. These performances will contribute towards your assessment for your ATCL (performance), LTCL (performance) or FTCL (performance) diploma.
