Carnival Dream Blog 1st March 2014 – Western Caribbean, 7 nights I really wanted to go on a Caribbean Cruise for a holiday. I looked at various cruise lines but decided I liked the sound of the Carnival brand. Carnival’s tagline is ‘Fun For All. All For Fun’ which summed up the cruise line completely. As I am 26 years old, I was looking for a cruise line that catered for a variety of ages. I found the Carnival Dream was the perfect choice. The passenger capacity is 3,652 so fairly large like their American competitors and the facilities onboard were just as impressive as the likes of Royal Caribbean. The maiden voyage on the Carnival Dream was the 21st December 2009 so it is one of the more modern ships out there. I was in the Scarlet Restaurant for dinner and was blown away by how beautiful it was. There are two floors to this main restaurant. The second floor looks down onto those dining below and there are elegant steps connecting the areas. The food was brilliant, very varied and exciting. The waiters couldn’t have provided any better service and most evenings they put on a performance for a few minutes, which everyone found very entertaining. Something else I really enjoyed was the Cloud 9 spa, which, at nearly 24,000 squarefeet is one of the largest at sea. The spa's thermal suite is decorated with colourful glass mosaics and includes a thalassotherapy pool, two steam rooms, two dry-heat rooms and the 7th Heaven relaxing room. What was amazing about it is you could look out to sea whilst relaxing. The gym was also well equipped and had a view out to sea. The ‘fun’ aspect of the ship includes a water park, a two deck miniature golf course and a ‘Dive in’ Movie Theatre. The Theatre was a chance to snuggle up in the evening with an ice cream and watch newly released movies. We had a very modern and spacious Inside Cabin. It was very comfortable. We also got to see the Balcony Cabins which are fantastic if you want a chance to sit out in the sun privately and have more of a lounge space in your room.
