Eclipse blog

I am so excited about writing this blog about this ship I’m not sure how I’m going to put it into words! Celebrity Eclipse Kayley and I boarded the Eclipse and began our tour in the ship’s Atrium. It is a very subtle Atrium, only 3 decks high which makes you feel like you are on a smaller size ship to one that’s holds almost 3000 guests!

Within the Atrium along side the glass lifts, there is a real life tree! It is being well looked after and is almost 2 decks tall!

The Ice Bar – definitely worth a visit! Whether it’s Martini or Vodka that you like, there are approx 100 different flavours to choose from. My favourite bit is that the top of the bar is made of Ice so when you put your drink down on to the bar it stays cold – what a great idea!

We then made our way to Cellar Master’s. It is a beautiful room with lots of different types of wine. You can even use the wine dispensers if there is maybe a type of wine you haven’t tried before, this way you don’t waste your money by having a full glass!

Wow what a restaurant. Qsine! A speciality restaurant with a difference. Instead of your traditional menu with starters, mains and desserts, Qsine offers an ipad as your menu with various choices of dishes. The waiters recommend you choose 3/4 dishes and if you are still hungry you can always order more! I loved the spring rolls that were served on springs!

The Library – Very modern but with a traditional touch!

Oceanview Café – The Buffet restaurant. I would say offers more than a standard buffet. The Oceanview Café has individual stations for different foods, like in the picture the Gourmet Sandwich station has members of staff on hand to hand make your choice of sandwich or if you would prefer a salad, again staff are there to make your salad!

The “Lawn” Not many cruise ships have real grass on deck! However the Celebrity Eclipse does. You can play lawn bowls, croquet or if you prefer something a little less energetic why not grab a blanket and ask for a picnic to be delivered to youon the lawn!

Also up on deck you can see the Hot Glass Show, the only place you can see this sort of thing at sea.

You can watch how they make glass look like this:

The outdoor areas were very clean and spacious. All of the sun loungers had cushions on and they even had double sun lounger beds! The shade canopies are a good idea as well especially when you are cruising in hot sunshine. The Eclipse has an adult only area which is tranquil and very relaxing. It is so quiet you can hear a pin drop – you would find me in there!! One of the little extra’s Celebrity Cruises does that stands out is they have Pool Butler’s. The butlers are there to look after what ever it is you may need/want from Ice cold towels to keeping the areas clean to getting fresh towels!

Moonlight Sonata Restaurant

An amazingly modern, light and beautiful space. The restaurant did have the wow factor especially the wine cellar area in the restaurant.

As you can see from the picture of our lunch menu, it did taste just as delicious as it sounds!

Mr and Mrs Gage had a wonderful day and it was great to meet them and that we were able to take some of our customers onboard to see this fantastic ship!

Mr and Mrs Gage with “bear with no name” – yet!
