The day is open to so many groups to come along and get amongst it that the name Frankton Thunder really only covers one part of the day. For those who want to start the day with a cruise on either a bike or in a car can meet in Cambridge to form the Thunder Cruise and convoy into Frankton from there. There’s a fair crowd of bikes that get amongst this. Most of which are decorated with stuffed fluffy toys for the charity collection run by St Vincent De Paul for local families when they thunder into the Frankton streets. Hot rods, muscle cars and classics have already started parking up along the side streets when this parade rolls in so it’s all go from here. Live bands set up on truck decks jam out cool old sounds as the crowd starts to grow to check out the action. Every now and then a Nitro drag car would smash the sound of the crowd
