of a Nitro car, then you are fully in for an experience when you do for the first time! The only word for it is “unbelievable”. A few other rodders joined in for the “Go to Woah” time trial competition with a couple needing further education in what a “Stop” sign actually means, but their enthusiasm on the “Go” sign was pretty damn impressive so hopefully points were allocated accordingly. Being held at an aeronautic museum could only mean that there would be some cool old planes creating some entertainment and SO it was! A very cool old biplane joined in for some flyovers with smoke trails and all.

It certainly was an entertaining day for sure; trying to figure out if I should be pointing the camera up or down became a mission in itself! Way too much to capture all at once – a slice of heaven really! This year’s NZHRA Street Rod Nationals are to be held in Rotorua in November so definitely get this event into your diary to get along to. It’s well worth the effort to check out these builds in person, plus see what else has come out of the caves ready for the weekend. I know it will be an impressive weekend again!
