I love this day! What an awesome way to spend Father’s Day, catching up with your mates, yarning over the sound of screaming V8’s, watching smoke billowing from squealing tyres and checking out some good old school drag racing! It’s not just about the drag racing here either, the pit area and back field are full with cool old school muscle cars, hot rods and drag cars taking you right back to the golden era when the hill at Meremere was filled with the people, all there to soak up the excitement of screaming V8’s and speed. Wandering around the pit area you could easily mistake it for a hot rod show. It’s easy to see it’s not just me that thinks this day is cool! With all the ups and downs of being locked away with Covid at the time, it was obvious people were just hanging to get out into it again!
