There’s always so much to see and do in a new destination, but the landscape often means it takes a long time to get anywhere by road. You can explore activities on shore and then come back to the yacht to relax and unwind and enjoy gourmet food prepared by the chef without any long journeys and hassle.

CUSTOMISED SERVICE

The crew makes a big difference for any yacht charter and will provide the ultimate level of service to ensure each charter is tailored to your needs. Whether that’s a platter of fresh fruit served mid-morning, sundowners or a full three-course dinner, the crew are ready to make it happen.

EXPERT ITINERARIES

Acting as ‘local’ experts and guides, Captains are familiar with the best anchorages, the best on and offshore activities and where to source the best local produce to make the most of each destination.

PRIVACY IS GUARANTEED

The supreme level of privacy on board a superyacht is unparalleled. There are many private anchorages and access to beaches, coves, even hidden restaurants and beach clubs that no one else can get to.

You can make the most of the spectacular on board experiences, including: beach clubs, outdoor cinemas, infinity pools, expansive dining spaces and water sports (jet skis, towables, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing, diving and submarines).

YACHT ETIQUETTE Chartering a superyacht combines PRIVACY with BESPOKE SERVICE in a relaxed environment. However, following a few simple etiquette rules can help to make, rather than break, your trip

Shoes for ashore should not be worn on board. Deck shoes may be worn, but most guests find they are comfortable in bare feet.

In most cruising destinations, use of personal water craft (i.e. wave-runners) may be restricted, forbidden or require a license based on local operating regulations. We can advise where these licenses may be obtained.

We suggest packing your personal items in soft luggage bags as this enables easier storage on board.

No pets are allowed on board unless previously agreed and permitted by the Owner.

Cruising distances will vary according to your preferred itinerary, however to maximize your enjoyment we suggest cruising 6 or less hours per day and being flexible to change course for weather or more time to enjoy a particular new location.

Once you have provided a time frame, size of your party and desired location, your charter consultant will hand select the best options for you to review. You may find what you like right away or broaden the search parameters for your broker based on amenities and budget.

ITINERARY

To give you a taste of what can be achieved during your charter, every itinerary we propose is written specifically with your own requirements in mind. We do have plenty of samples to get you started but would customize this with you and the Captain once we have discussed the particular details of your charter.

Please note that some cruising restrictions do apply to certain areas of the world, but this would be clarified when discussing your proposed cruise.

Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) represents the operating expenses that you will incur during your stay on board. Deductions from the APA include fuel for the yacht, tenders and watertoys, berthing fees, customs charges, harbour and pilot fees, divers fees where required, shore side water and electricity when applicable, food, beverages, communication charges, agent fees and other miscellaneous costs. Industry average is 30% of the charter fee. The Captain will keep an itemized tally of this for your review so that you know of any refund or if it needs topping up. Delivery/Redelivery Fee if the chosen cruising itinerary necessitates embarking or disembarking from a point other than the yacht’s home port or other than a port en route, fees may be incurred. These are calculated in most cases as a fuel only charge using the yacht’s fuel consumption but on occasions, during high season, may also include a time charge. These fees are paid in advance with the provisioning allowance. VAT, Sales Tax or Charter Tax - some level of VAT is now charged in most European Union member countries. The level can sometimes be discounted depending on your itinerary and your broker will be able to advise fully when proposing yachts for your charter. It is generally good to know that published and advertised charter rates for yachts do not normally include VAT or other local taxes unless expressly stated otherwise. Within the U.S. sales tax may apply based on the country in which you embark Inclusive Rate normally means including the crew, their food and uniforms, yacht insurance, all meals and drinks except special requests, berthing and fuel. These conditions may vary from yacht to yacht. Plus Expenses Rates includes the yacht with all its equipment in working order, the crew’s wages, uniform and food, plus the insurance of the yacht. Fuel, food/ beverage, berthing, customs, electric, communications and any other special requests are extra.

THE FAQs IS THERE A CONTRACT INVOLVED? Once you have decided you wish to proceed with booking the charter, we will issue you with a contract. This is likely one of 2 standard contracts depending on the cruising region. The most common is MYBA, endorsed by a leading London maritime lawyer. This contract has evolved over the last 20 years and is now regarded as the reliable industry standard. The 2 part AYCA is primarily used in the U.S. and with U.S. flagged vessels, also adopting terms from the MYBA Agreement. WHEN DO I TRANSFER FUNDS? In most cases you will be required to pay (by wire transfer) a deposit of 50% of the total charter fee upon signing the Charter Agreement. The remaining 50% of the charter fee plus the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), and any applicable taxes, delivery fees and security deposit are due one month before the beginning of your charter. HOW DOES THE CHEF KNOW OUR LIKES AND DISLIKES? Culinary excellence is often the highlight of any charter and your yacht’s chef will customize this. Prior to your charter we will ask you to complete an information sheet noting your culinary preferences or any special dietary requirements, beverages,

newspapers, flowers or other special requests. Details on any medical issues, allergies and special occasions can be noted. We encourage you to divulge as much information as possible to give the crew a detailed understanding before you step on board. WILL THE STEWARD/STEWARDESS DEAL WITH MY PERSONAL LAUNDRY? It is common practice on most yachts for small quantities of personal laundry to be carried out by the yacht’s crew as a service. Please note that these terms also allow the crew to refuse politely to do excessive quantities of laundry on board or to handle particularly delicate items. It may be possible to have certain laundry done ashore professionally if time allows, the cost of which will be deducted from the APA. DO I PAY A GRATUITY? If your charter has been everything you hoped it would be, by all means show your appreciation with a gratuity. However, please note that although crew gratuities are customary, they are left at your sole discretion. As a guideline, we would suggest between 10% and 20% of the charter fee to be split equally between the crew depending on the level of service. CAN I SMOKE ON BOARD? In most cases, smoking is not permitted inside the yacht for safety reasons. Many yachts operate a policy of smoking permitted on deck only, however, please check the policy as each yacht varies in their approach to smoking on board. IS SCUBA DIVING ALWAYS OFFERED ON BOARD? If a yacht does not advertise scuba diving as a guest facility, it is usually possible to arrange a local shore based diving company to bring all the necessary equipment and take you and your guests on a specific diving trip subject to local law restrictions. This is commonly referred to as “rendezvous diving”.
