1. Please read, complete and sign Caribbean Aviation Training Academy customer/ renter pilot agreement form. 2. Pilots are required to attend classes properly attired in their appropriate uniform and have in their possession the necessary equipment for their lesson/flight. This does not apply to aircraft renters. 3. For scheduling flights please call the CATC flight department and/or your flight instructor. Even though we encourage advance planning we will attempt to accommodate short notice reservations but cannot guarantee an aircraft and/or an instructor with less than 24 hours notice in advance. 4. We at CATC are constantly working to facilitate the needs of our customer and request that we are immediately made aware of a cancelled flight. Reservations cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a fee of one (1) hour of aircraft rental cost and one (1) hour of instruction time ( if flight is dual instruction ). A waiver may be obtained only for emergency circumstances. 5. Pilots and aircraft customers are allowed a grace period of 15 minutes past their scheduled appointment/ flight lesson in which they can still commence their flight. However, arrivals outside this grace period are subject to the flight slot being given to standby clients without recourse. In the event you are experiencing delays, we encourage you to call our office ASAP. 6. It is imperative that you honour the scheduled return time for the aircraft. Remember that on most occasions flights are booked “back-to-back and the successful dispatch of succeeding flights is dependent on the aircrafts timely return. However, in the event that it becomes prudent to discontinue a flight due to weather, mechanical issues, illness, etc., then we expect such communication from the PIC at his/her earliest convenience.

7. Please remember to properly secure the aircraft after each flight, viz., wheel chocks, pitot tube cover, control column gust lock etc. 8. Smoking, as well as the use of cell phones is prohibited both in the aircraft and classroom. 9. Do not at any time remove the school’s fuel tester, fuel dipstick or Pilot Operating Handbook from the aircraft.

10. As pilot in command, you are responsible for your passengers safety and conduct when onboard the aircraft. Please ensure that your passengers are familiar with the schools rules concerning care of the aircraft, particularly the removal of trash and disposables such as waste/scrap paper, bags etc., after each flight. The aircraft should be returned in a clean and tidy condition. If during your preflight there are any noticeable discrepancies, please do not hesitate to bring this to the attention of any flight instructor or staff member. 11. All incidents, accidents and abnormal operation must be promptly reported to management at CATC in addition to the necessary formal reporting as required by the JCAA regulations. 12. Checklist usage is mandatory. Ensure that you are thoroughly familiar with the contents of the Pilots Operating Handbook before attempting to operate any aircraft. 13. During engine starting, do not continuously engage the starter for more than the specified time interval as per the POH. In any event, not more than 10 seconds at any one time (in which case the starter should be allowed to cool for at least 30 seconds or more before another attempt). Memorize the procedures for normal, hot and flooded starts. Remember, excessive cranking leads to premature failure. 14. At all costs avoid “riding the brakes as this leads to excessive wear and eventually failure. Good airmanship dictates correct use of the throttle and taxi speed so as to minimize use of the brakes. 15. It is important to make sure that the windows are clean before flight. Provided for your usage are specially formulated solvents and cleaning equipment (never use solvents containing ammonia or acrylic ! ) . Do not use unapproved liquids, dirty towels or other cleaning agents as this will cause irreversible damage and lead to expensive repairs! Again, please ask our friendly staff for help.

16. When it becomes necessary to add oil, always use a funnel. Even then, ensure that no spillage takes place on or in the engine compartment. This is a potential fire hazard and can easily be prevented. 17. We at CATC take great pride in our airplanes and ask that you use a ladder when visually checking the fuel in airplanes that are not equipped with refueling steps. Ensure that metal ladders do not make contact with the aircraft body as this can cause expensive damage to the paint work. Under no circumstances should you attempt to climb onto the struts and other “no-step” areas! 18. Never put metallic or magnetic items on the instrument panel (this includes headsets). This causes scratches to the windows and sometimes affects the proper operation of the aircrafts magnetic compass. 19. When maneuvering in close proximity to other aircraft and obstacles for the purposes of exiting or entering the ramp, exercise extreme caution! When in doubt, shutdown the engine and use a towbar to manually steer the aircraft. Remember good piloting dictates good use of any and all available resources. 20. At no time should CATC airplanes be intentionally flown below 1000 feet AGL (above ground level) . “Buzzing” and other prohibited and reckless operation will result in the revocation of your flying privileges. 21. For pilots in training the following limitations apply to you. Memorize and observe them. You will be held accountable during solo operation: Traffic Pattern -----------ceiling 1500 AGL or higher / visibility 5 SM Fuel = Flight duration + 45 min. reserve min. Practice Area ------------ceiling 3000 AGL or higher / visibility 8 SM Fuel = Flight duration + 45 min. reserve min. Cross-Country -----------ceiling 4000 MSL or higher / visibility 10SM Fuel = Flight duration + 60 min. reserve min. 22. For solo flight maximum x-wind component 8 kts Cessna 152 23. For solo flight maximum x-wind component 12 kts Cessna 172 24. Pilot Recurrence Training a) No pilot may carry passengers in a Caribbean Aviation Training Center aircraft unless within the preceding 30 days has completed 5 take-offs and landings as the sole manipulator of the flight controls in an aircraft of the same category and class.

b)

No pilot may act as the pilot in command of a Caribbean Aviation training Center aircraft unless within the preceding 90 days that pilot has conformed to part a) of this sub-section or has performed 5 take-offs and landings with a certified Caribbean Aviation Training Center flight instructor.

25. An annual in house pilot assessment and proficiency level check is required by all Caribbean Aviation Training Center pilots. To include but not limited to a minimum of one (1) hour of flight and one (1) hour of ground. For the benefit of the pilot undergoing the check, feedback and recommendations will be provided by the instructor for further pilot development.
