Studio III: Retail Project Fashion Line Store In this project, my partner and I were required to work with a fashion designer and create a store based on the style of her merchandise. Throughout this project, we learned to familiarize ourselves with our client’s products and also learn how to redesign an existing space. This included performing on site measurments as well as observing shopping trends according to the location. In addition, we went on field studies to Milan to study shop window compositions, and visited a firm that specialized in shop displays. This project helped us understand the importance of working closely as a team as well as with the client.

Studio II:
Residential Project - High End Residence Working in groups of two, my partner and I were asked to design a high-end residential home that was based on a specific cultural theme. Our clients were a pair of newly weds in their middle-ages, and they had a budget on how much they were going to spend on the home. One of the client’s parents require assistance so we had to consider the possibility of designing the house for a long term guest. Therefore, we not only had to consider architectural elements in our design, but also the dynamics of our client’s personalities and relationships with one another. To fulfill these many requirements, my partner and I decided to design the house based on Italian Renaissance themes.

Studio II:
Residential Project - Specific Needs In this individual project, I was assigned a client with a specific need. My client was a widowed woman in her 60s, looking to downsize her house by moving into an apartment in Sarasota, Florida. However, she was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and may thus require assisstance in the future. The challenge in this project therefore was to design everything with Universal Design in mind. Selecting non-slip materials and adjusting counter and seating heights were a prority. In addition, the project had speficied water walls. This helped me understand the difficulties of working with limited choices.

Multi-Media Sketches
On the next two pages are a couple of sketches and drawings that I’ve done for classes. The first page consists of pictures that I did when I was in a design basics class. The second page displays on site sketches that I drew when I was in Rome on a study abroad.
Models Before my school projects were due in AutoCAD and Revit form, I was required to present models as a final product. Here are two examples of these model projects. The one above is a gallery space which stands on a lake, and the one below is a jazz lounge.

Although I have been taking pictures with a standard camera for nine years, it was only until the recent Rome Study Abroad program that I began to shoot with a professional camera. While I was in Rome, I took a class on photography, and these are some of the images that I took.
