What Is Book Analysis â– Book analysis entails a description, critical analysis, and an evaluation of the quality, meaning, and significance of a book.
Introduction ■ Provide essential information about the book and its theme ■ Explain the context of the book and the review ■ Mention relevant details about the author ■ State the thesis of the book
Body ■ Summarize the Book plot ■ Provide analysis and evaluation of the book ■ Review how the thesis was developed throughout the book ■ Organize the analysis into paragraphs (one idea per paragraph) ■ Compare the book to other works ■ Evaluate the book for interest, accuracy, objectivity, importance, and usefulness to its intended audience ■ Explore issues the book raises ■ Comment on parts of particular interest and point out what gives the book literary merit; relate the book to a larger issue
Conclusion ■ Restate the thesis statement and provide final judgment regarding the book ■ Answer the questions as below ■ What are the strengths of the book? Why should one read it? ■ What can one learn from it? How might the lessons from this book be applied?
