In-Country: Memories of a Tour of Duty in South Vietnam by Philip B. Fehrenbacher

Longtime cartoonist, illustrator and Vietnam War Army veteran Phil Fehrenbacher has turned his popular online comic strip “In-Country” into a book!

Featuring more than 100 cartoons depicting the experiences and memories of veterans who served in South Vietnam.

“The cartoons are not always funny,” Fehrenbacher says, “but hopefully jog the memories of those who were there and inform those who were not.”

Operation Firefly by Liane Young

A compelling work of historical fiction written by former director of corporate communications for the Office of Naval Research Liane Young, “Operation Firefly” reveals the amazing true story of the smokejumpers of the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, also known as the “Triple Nickles,” the U.S. Army’s first all-black test platoon.

Disabled American Veterans

DAV is looking for more volunteer more volunteer drivers nationwide to meet the growing transportation need of veterans. Without this program, many veterans would not have access to the VA health care they’ve earned. Applicants can also request the route area they prefer.
