MDs COMMENT Richard Armstrong WELCOME TO THE SECOND ISSUE OF INSIDE AUTOMATION It’s hard to believe we are 6 months into 2019. A lot has happened here at OEM including new partnership agreements signed with Definox and AGRO. Definox specialise in the design and manufacture of stainless steel valves for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. We will be exhibiting Definox along with other related products at BEVEXPO at the Ricoh Arena on the 25th/26th June. Read more on page 5.
Celebrating 25 years! Tecnoplastic, one of our up and coming manufacturers, is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Founded in Italy in 1994, Tecnoplastic originally manufactured float switches and filters using their wealth of experience in the plumbing and electromechanical industry dating back to the 70’s. IT’S ALL GONE BLACK & WHITE As Baco celebrates its 100th year anniversary OEM has noticed a growing demand for pushbutton devices in black and white! This of course is nothing to do with old fashioned technology but the ‘Safety Of Machinery’ standard IEC 60204-1. In the past red has been widely used for the stop function on many machines but today the preference is to use black. While red is still permitted it is not recommended for use near any Emergency Stop actuators which of course must be red. Green can also still be used for the start function but today the preference is to use white. STEGO HEATERS GO FLAT OUT
The CP061 flat heater is designed for use within enclosures with electrical components to evenly distribute temperature. Due to its ultra-thin design this heater is suitable for high density applications where standard enclosure heaters are too big For use as a contact heater the CP061 offers thermo conductivity directly to components or enclosure walls that need to be heated. Alternatively, they can also be used as a convection heater to warm the ambient air within an enclosure. A specially designed mounting system allows for expansion of the heater body as a result of heating-up during operation.
