Valco has designed the probe and amplifier to function as a stand-alone system with built in functions such as self testing and fine tuning to enable the system to detect specific liquids with a high level of accuracy.
VNR amplifier: • Supply voltage 24/230Vac 50/60 Hz • Output 2 x SPDT 230Vac 6A • Sensitivity 10 – 250 µS • Dimensions 55 x 75 x 110mm • 2 front mounted trimmers To set the level switch points simply cut the probes to the required lengths and then trim back the insulating coating to expose the inner rod making sure the ‘ground’ rod is always in contact with the media. Mount into the tank, connect to the VNR unit and trim the sensitivity if necessary to ‘fine tune’ the system to achieve long lasting, accurate level control. Occasionally liquids can coat the rods ‘insulating’ them from the media. Valco has developed a simple ‘in-situ’ test procedure to evaluate the condition of the rods enabling the system to work efficiently only needing maintenance when necessary.

Hot connections The TSK series of thermocouple terminals can be used to extend thermocouple measuring circuits without introducing errors caused by incompatible junction materials. This range is available for use with T, J, E, K, S & R type thermocouples. The busbars on the thermocouple terminals are made of the same materials as the compensating line. This ensures the thermocouple signals are transmitted accurately on the junction between the thermocouple, terminal and compensating lines. The perfect combination The new Ex e combo box is designed to fit perfectly next to an Ex d enclosure with the two bolted together to provide a lightweight and flexible solution. Less expensive Ex e components can be mounted in the combo box such as terminals and HMI’s. You can use easier to install Ex e glands to make your connections with the flexibility that additional glands can be added at a later stage if required. The boxes are simple to machine, have less screws to fasten and the combo box can be quickly accessed for installation and maintenance without having to open the Ex d enclosure. The biggest saving comes because you can now use a much smaller Ex d enclosure to house only the non Ex components. Once assembled and connected the Ex d enclosure should never need to be opened again greatly reducing the risk of compromising protection.

Crouzet Automation has launched the em4, a highperformance nano-PLC that is able to communicate as part of the “Internet of Things”. The innovative em4 constitutes a significant growth platform for OEMs and integrators who are looking for an easy way to move their application into the digital era. It also provides a new, ready-to-use infrastructure along with an ecosystem of online tools and services, the em4 lab, creating new added value for their customers. The em4 series is comprised of three different models, each with a different level of connectivity. The mid-range em4 alert is capable of sending SMS or email alerts and the em4 local is for applications that do not require remote communication or require only a local area network. The em4 uses 24VDC control, has 26 I/O including 4 configurable digital inputs (20KHZ Encoder or 60KHZ high speed counter) 12 digital or analogue inputs including 4 configurable (0-10V, 0-20mA or 4-20mA) and 8 relay outputs (2 x 6A, 6 x 8A). Programming the units could not be simpler using the em4 soft. Function specific blocks as well as remote and alert specific function blocks offer a quick drag and drop style of programming and with an internal memory for up to 1000 blocks.

‘Switched on’ to innovation Stego has launched the new DS013 door switch to complement their range of enclosure products. The door switch can be easily fitted and provides a flexible switching solution for panels and cabinets. It can be used for example to control lighting, heating and cooling circuits within a panel and removes the potential of forgetting to reinstate these circuits after maintenance.

Prewired tamperproof LED beacons The new P series are prewired ø75mm beacons featuring high performance LED technology. All models are available in a high or low level polycarbonate lens design. This is bonded to the base to help achieve the protection class of IP66/67 and impact rating IK08.
This also provides a tamper proof solution ideally suited to outdoor applications. The high performance LED’s provide excellent visibility even outdoors in bright sunlight and are available in a steady/flashing or LED multi strobe beacon. Mounting screws are pre-fitted for horizontal fixing but there are also options for pole mount or a bracket to allow for vertical mounting.

Speed, position & direction feedback As part of the ever evolving motor and geared motor programme, feedback via integrated sensors is now available across 3 different size options from Doga’s brushed d.c geared motor programme. 20A DC UPS module with adjustable output voltage General power outs or unexpected shut-downs can cause system damage and expensive down time in critical control systems. This can be avoided by using a DC UPS and the latest unit from Puls can deliver output currents up to 20A. The unit is only 46mm wide and can be used with batteries between 3.9Ah and 130Ah. Thus the unit is suitable not only as short-term backup power for controlled shut-down after a power outage, but also as an emergency power feed until any system fault can be rectified. The output voltage can be set between 22.5V and 26V making the unit suitable for systems which are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Two series-connected 12V batteries are required to provide the backup power. However, each battery is individually charged and monitored which enhances the life of the batteries and avoids the need of matched batteries when a replacement eventually becomes necessary.

Unrivalled advanced process controller The new PMA KS-20 is the latest 1⁄16th DIN controller that offers greater functionality than that found in traditional panel mounted temperature controllers of the same size. The SVB range of terminal blocks from contaclip is designed to terminate large incoming cables and distribute to multiple smaller cable outlets within a single block. The compact modular design is ideal to use in installation and distribution applications where space is at a premium.
