At the beginning of the year, OESA launched the Emerging Leadership Council (ELC) Class of 2022-23. The two-year leadership development program, formerly known as the Young Leadership Council, is designed to equip future leaders with the skills they need to confidently lead their teams and drive performance within their organizations. Council members hear from subject matter experts on leadership, professional and personal development, industry best practices and more.
Members of the ELC are identified as future leaders within their organization and nominated by their executives. The council is open to all member companies and provides a forum to help retain future leaders. Participants come from all functional areas, including finance, sales, marketing, manufacturing, human resources, purchasing, logistics, communications, and engineering.
At the first meeting, the 40 members in the 2022-23 cohort:
• Heard from Kurk Wilks, President & CEO, Mann+Hummel Group, on the 5 C’s Leaders ACT on: Competence, Conviction, Character, Compassion, and Commitment • Met with ELC alumni members • Built new relationships with automotive industry peers • Learned about OESA and the ELC program
Could your company's future leaders benefit from an experience like this? The cohort for ELC for 2023-24 will begin accepting nominations in October 2022.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we invite you to participate in our Legal Issues Council (LIC) meeting on April 19th, 2022. You can participate in-person or virtually.
The LIC invites in-house counsel from supplier member companies to discuss business-critical legal issues, such as product liability, industry terms and conditions, directed buys and intellectual property protection. Members of the council weigh in on the ongoing analysis of OEM terms and conditions and discuss topics from other councils from a legal perspective.
Scheduled Topics Include: • Intellectual property risk and insurance presented by Aon's Peter Holz, Vice President,
Head of Commercial IP Risk, and Poh Chua, Senior Managing Director • Review of OESA’s OEM supplier council representation and an OESA update by
Julie A. Fream, President & CEO, OESA • MEMA Washington DC Policy Update by Ann Wilson, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, MEMA
If you are already a member, we look forward to seeing you at the April meeting. If you are not yet a member, we welcome you to be our guest. Please reach out to me so we can get you registered for the meeting.
Council membership is available to the legal executives of OESA supplier member companies. If you are a supplier member and your company does not have an internal legal group, the internal person leading your legal efforts (e.g. CFO) is welcome to join.
Cost of membership is $1,000 per year. Membership fee is prorated to cover remaining meetings.
