TT is designed to connect you to our community, prepare you for all facets of life at Belmont and help you feel at ease as you enter into this next chapter of your life. Kick-Off Dinner | Group A 5–6 p.m. | Grand Maddox Atrium Enjoy a complimentary dinner with your fellow classmates and their families. The Belmont community will be bustling with live music and great food! Opening Session A | Group A 6:15–7:15 p.m. | Curb Event Center Join the Orientation Council, President Jones, and Tower Team Leaders as you learn about the amazing journey you are about to begin. *Note: Students who attend the Friday night dinner and opening session will not need to attend the Saturday night dinner and opening session. However, new students will need to attend the Saturday night Tower Jam and Tower Jam Part II regardless of move-in date and time. Parents and guests can attend the Sunday morning Welcome Week events. Bruin Bash | Thursday & Friday 7:30–9 p.m. | Main Lawn For students moving in on Thursday or Friday, we have your nighttime plans covered! Join us for Bruin Bash happening on the main lawn Thursday and Friday night from 7:30–9 p.m. This is a student only event. Students—come grab your free Belmont t-shirt at this event! FitRec Stop by the FitRec front desk in the Beaman Student Life Center to see hours of operation and get your workout in! ID/Parking Decal Questions/Help Stop by the Kennedy Hall lobby from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. during Welcome Week.

ALL STUDENTS | Move-in Groups A & B Tower Jam | all new students 7:15–7:45 p.m. | Curb Event Center This high energy kick-off event is just for you...and the other 2000+ new students joining the Bruin Community! You won’t want to miss it. Tower Jam Part II : Meet Your TT Group | all new students 7:45–9:15 p.m. | Main Lawn At this time, students will meet their TT Group. Each TT Group consists of 10–20 new students and is led by a Tower Team Leader (an upperclassman). Jump in on the fun and get connected to your Bruin community! Catholic Mass 9:30–10:30 p.m. | Janet Ayers Academic Center University Chapel Catholic Mass will be held in the University Chapel and is open to anyone wishing to participate.

Each year, Belmont University welcomes its new students with a Matriculation Ceremony to signify their acceptance into the school’s academic program.

At this time, we start our student-only portion of Welcome Week. Parents and guests, we ask for you to plan travel accordingly to leave campus by 11 a.m., allowing your student to fully participate in Welcome Week.

Once you’ve said goodbye to your parents and guests, reconnect with your TT Group on the Main Lawn.

Begin your Sunday Towering Traditions experience with a time of worship and celebration! This meaningful time of song, prayer, scripture reading and short meditation from our University Minister sets the tone for the academic year. All are welcome for this time of reflection and celebration.

To kick things off, join us as Student Success & Flourishing, University Ministries, Counseling Services and the 2022 Orientation Council explore the power of stories. Church Fair 3:30–5 p.m. South Lawn is the time to get plugged in to a local church! University has invited more than 60 different local churches (representing various Christian denominations) to campus to give a chance to meet church leaders, talk with Belmont students involved at each church and begin the process of finding a new church home. 4:30–6:30 p.m. Harrington Place Dining eat with your Tower Team Group during dinner, have the opportunity to visit the Church Fair and have a little down time before the Big Game. Head to your residence hall and meet your neighbors as you finish setting up your room. Dinner 4:30–7 p.m. | Harrington Place Dinner Main Session 6: Storytelling Session 7–9 p.m. | Curb Event Center | WELL Core Credit Stories have power: stories connect us, stories shape us and stories inspire us. In this session, we will explore past stories shaping our future stories. ResHall Hangout Hosted by University Ministries 9–10:30 p.m. | Various Locations This gathering gives you a chance to meet other students within surrounding resident halls, as well as your Spiritual Life Assistants (SLAs) and other University Ministries student leaders, who help freshmen build community within their residence halls and explore spiritual life at Belmont. Open to all students interested. Dance faculty will teach the audition class in ballet, modern, jazz and tap; students should wear appropriate attire/shoes for each style. One of the great things about Belmont is that it is located in the city of Nashville! In this session, we will discuss what it means to be a citizen of Belmont and Nashville. ResHall Service Connection 11:15 a.m.–12 p.m. | Curb Event Center Service is at the core of who we are at Belmont. To model this, every Residence Hall is connected to a local organization. Throughout the year, you will have to opportunity to join this organization in the great work they are doing to serve the city of Nashville. In this session, you will go with your go to your ResHall location and learn more about your hall’s community partner. Note: Commuter students can head to Russell Hall Lobby.

If you are interested in an on-campus job or working with an organization in the Nashville community, you will want to take advantage of our employment fair. Bring a copy of your Fall Semester schedule and come prepared to interview with several different representatives.

Every year, before the first day of classes, new students gather to participate in this symbolic event. This event brings the spirit of Belmont forward from past to the present.

2:45–3:30 p.m. | Meet Your TT Group in the CURB Meet up with your TT Leader to see your First Year Seminar classroom. You can also bring your class schedule to ask your TT Leader about the ins-and-outs on how to navigate your first day of classes.

Motion Pictures Safety Seminar & Safety Test (mandatory for all MOT majors) 3–7 p.m. (dinner break included) | Johnson Center 115 Belmont takes safety seriously. This will be a “How to Safely Run a Shoot” demonstration followed by the Safety Test. Every MOT student must participate and pass the test to be able to work on any sets in the fall.

Each residence hall has a mandatory floor meeting before the start of the academic semester. Ask your Resident Assistant for more information.
