If you’re looking for a school with professors who are consistently available to you and take an active interest in your success, both in and outside the classroom, Belmont is a clear winner. Our 14:1 studentto-faculty ratio makes for a uniquely personal learning experience. In fact, nearly half of Belmont’s classes consist of fewer than 19 students. Belmont is also home to a number of unique academic programs that link classroom education with real-life experience. But we don’t just follow the trends—we’re committed to leading the way by pioneering exciting majors like biophysics, business systems and analytics, creative and entertainment industries, media production, emerging media, and music technology. Recently, Belmont has even been praised by U.S. News & World Report for “leading the pack in improvements and innovative changes.” Maybe they heard about our business majors who launched and manage a student-run boutique on campus or our music business course that sends students on tour over the summer with The Turtles, a ‘60s rock band. Part of Belmont’s academic mission is to engage and transform the world through international study, service and internship opportunities on six of the seven continents. Each year, hundreds of students from all majors study abroad, earning Belmont credits while gaining a greater respect for other cultures and an increased skill set with immeasurable value in today’s global marketplace. The numbers speak for themselves—in a recent ranking of U.S. schools by the total number of students who chose to study abroad, Belmont ranked in the nation’s top 10. Belmont’s liberal arts base means you’ll get intensive studies in all the liberal arts and humanities, but that’s not all we do. Highly regarded professional and pre-professional programs in accounting, nursing, pre-law and more are available on our campus, too. Belmont may be most well-known for its music resume—it was named one of the best music business programs in the country by Rolling Stone and Time— but you’ll want to learn more about all our colleges, programs and majors before making your choice.

“Belmont is special because of the authentic community that you find. You meet people who desire intentional relationships to grow spiritually, academically and physically. That’s special. There are so many people from all different types of backgrounds, yet at Belmont we are uniquely one. I have never felt more at home in a place away from home in my entire life.”

Our beautiful, 93-acre campus is packed with opportunities. Dive into campus life with any of our 160+ clubs and organizations, or support your fellow Bruins by cheering on one of our 17 NCAA Division I athletic teams. Want to get in on the action? Our popular intramurals program includes everything from flag football and basketball to wallyball and dodgeball. Or maybe a game of Frisbee on the Quad is more your style? With more than half of Belmont undergrads living on campus, there’s always something going on—from socials, movie nights and concerts to the annual Fall Follies or other events held in the 5,000-seat Curb Event Center. Our campus continues to grow, too, with openings of a beautiful cafeteria, a 10-story residence hall and two state-of-the-art academic buildings: the Janet Ayers Academic Center, which houses liberal arts, science and religion programs along with numerous lab spaces and a 250-seat chapel, and the R. Milton and Denice Johnson Center, which Nashville serves as the home for Harrington Place Dining and the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business. Other impressive buildings include the McAfee Concert Hall, with its unparalleled acoustics, and the Beaman Student Life Center, home to our campus gym and rockclimbing wall. Great and familiar food options are available across campus as well with McAlister’s Deli, Chick-fil-A and a We Proudly Brew Starbucks venue just steps away, ready to provide a full meal, quick snack or necessary coffee break. Currently under construction is the 1,700-seat, world-class, state-of-theart, Belmont University Performing Arts Center, slated to open in fall 2021. Classical concerts, operas, musical theatre performances, theatre productions, dance recitals, commercial showcases and more will be held in the Center’s Performance Hall to accommodate the diverse musical interests and talents of Belmont students. Belmont’s borders also extend off campus to the famed and historic Music Row where students studying audio engineering technology and songwriting have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning at the renowned Oceanway Studio and legendary Columbia A and Quonset Hut Studios. And in terms of student activities, there’s a club or group for nearly every interest. If you’re interested in Greek Life, Belmont University is home to six nationally recognized sororities and two nationally recognized fraternities representing NPC, IFC and NPHC. Students can also choose from a wide range of organizations from academic to athletic to social to spiritual. The Bruins are big on giving back, too, logging more than 200,000 hours of communityoutcomes service annually.

Music City—a small-town heart with a big city feel. One of the nation’s fastest-growing cities, Nashville was named one of the Top Twenty Best Places to Go in 2020, according to Condé Nast Traveler. But all that acclaim hasn’t gone to our heads. We were also named the friendliest city in America by Travel + Leisure. Our popularity may have something to do with our booming health care industry, thriving music scene and healthy job market, not to mention being a hub of higher education, with more than 20 colleges and universities located in the area. Our status as the state capital means Nashville is a business hub, too, providing endless opportunities for internships (and future jobs!) in a variety of fields. With professional sports teams, more than 150 live music venues, world-class museums and a wide range of outdoor activities, Nashville has plenty to offer. Belmont’s campus is also just blocks from historic Music Row and the trendy coffeehouses, boutiques and restaurants of Hillsboro Village and the 12 South Neighborhood. With so much culture busting from Nashville’s seams, Belmont students are never more than a hop, skip and a jump away from a new Nashville taste or experience. Drive a few miles and you’re in the heart of downtown, an interesting mix of honky tonks and history, with landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and the Frist Art Museum just waiting to be explored. It’s clear why Nashville has taken on a new designation—America’s “Nowville.” When you choose a college, you also choose a new hometown, and as a Belmont Bruin you’ll be proud to be part of the larger Nashville community. If all this sounds perfect to you, let us be the first to say, “Welcome home!”

“I love that Belmont is a place where my peers and professors will challenge me to think critically and refine my ideas as a student. I think that the most rewarding aspect is that I have found genuine communities and friendships that make it a joy to be a student here—that and all the great coffee shops in Nashville!”
