SCOTT CORLEY
Vice President, Director of Athletics Scott Corley ('90) begins his eighth year leading Belmont University Athletics in 2023-24. A 1990 Belmont graduate and one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Corley has helped the Bruin athletic program enjoy overwhelming success. Belmont began competition in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2023-24 after a decade of success in the Ohio Valley Conference. Belmont has won 53 conference championships (22 team, 31 individual) and earned 35 NCAA Tournament invitations (9 team, 26 individual) during Corley's tenure, including victories over Oregon, Florida, Gonzaga and Temple in the NCAA Tournament. In 2021-22, Belmont won the OVC Commissioner’s Cup symbolizing overall athletic excellence in Conference-sponsored championships. Led by conference championships in women's cross country, women's basketball, men's tennis and baseball, Belmont placed Top 3 in conference standings in a staggering 15 of 17 sponsored sports (including men's soccer in the Southern Conference). Under Corley’s leadership, Belmont has made transformational improvements to its athletic facility portfolio, most notably opening the Crockett Center for Athletic Excellence in May 2021 benefitting men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s tennis and women’s tennis and the Rose Park indoor practice facility benefitting baseball, softball, men’s golf and women’s golf. "Athletics – the staff, the coaches and the student athletes – have helped write Belmont's history up until now, are a significant part of who we are today, and will play an important role in shaping our future," Jones said of Corley. "As such I can think of no more appropriate action than to have Scott's exceptional voice and vision represented in leading the University from this point forward." Recent coaching hires by Corley have also thrived at Belmont, most notably with women's basketball head coach Bart Brooks being named 2018 WBCA Maggie Dixon Coach of the Year and becoming one of the fastest head coaches to 100 career wins in college basketball history. Brooks joined fellow Belmont head coaches Dave Jarvis, Jeff Langdon, David Costa and Mauricio Antun in earning conference coach of the year honors in 2022.
the Bruins, a rebrand of the Bruin Club, the athletic department fundraising arm, adoption of the Belmont Athlete Mentorship Program (AMP) connecting Belmont alumni with current student-athletes on career development, and robust partnerships with INFLCR on name, image, likeness to benefit studentathletes. Corley serves on the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (ADA) leadership team and has served on the Board of the Nashville Sports Council since 2014. He also contributed to the Belmont University Alumni Board from 2009-14 and the Nashville Health Care Council from 2013-14. Corley brings over 25 years of business experience within the Nashville community to Belmont Athletics. Most recently, Corley spent four-plus years in senior leadership at FirstBank, engaging in business development with some of the most successful companies in middle Tennessee. Prior to his time at FirstBank, Corley served as managing director for corporate banking at Regions Bank for five years. He held a similar capacity at SunTrust Bank from 1991-2007, overseeing middle Tennessee, east Tennessee, and sparking the company’s foothold in Kentucky markets, such as Louisville and Lexington. In 1986, Corley was the first men’s basketball signee for hall of fame head coach Rick Byrd. The shooting guard went on to lead Belmont to 90 victories over four seasons and the program’s first-ever NAIA National Tournament berth in 1989. The then-Rebels won the 1988 Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC) title and the 1989 NAIA District 24 championship. Corley is one of only eight players in the history of Belmont Basketball to score over 2,000 career points, ranking sixth all-time (2,062). While former Belmont All-American and NBA Champion Ian Clark (’13) holds the Bruins’ NCAA Division I era record for career 3-point field goals (340), Corley’s astonishing mark of 420 made 3-pointers may never be broken. The southpaw also took part in one of the most iconic games in the history of Nashville sports, when on Feb. 17, 1990 Belmont and Lipscomb played before an overflow crowd of 16,000 at Vanderbilt University’s Memorial Gymnasium. Corley, a two-time NAIA Academic-All American (1989, 1990) and Belmont Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2000 inductee, earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belmont before receiving his master’s degree in business administration from Samford University. Corley is married to the former Keely Gourley. The couple has two children, Karson and Kennedy.
Moreover, Corley has spearheaded new athletic department initiatives, including a program-wide deal with Under Armour as the official outfitter of

HEAD COACH CASEY ALEXANDER Career Record: 235–150 (13th season) Record at Belmont: 98–30 (Fifth season) thru 2022–23 Casey Alexander was introduced as the 10th head men's basketball coach in program history Wednesday, April 10, 2019. He begins his fifth season as head coach in 2023-24. Alexander's first four seasons as head coach at Belmont - succeeding hall of fame coach Rick Byrd - have been extraordinary. Belmont's 98 victories since the start of the 2019-20 season rank Top 12 nationally – among the likes of Gonzaga, Kansas, Houston, Baylor and San Diego State. Alexander also has one of the best conference records in the nation over the last seven seasons, 97-23 (.808). With two-time all-conference guard Ben Sheppard selected No. 26 by the Indiana Pacers in the 2023 NBA Draft, Belmont is among exclusive company with two or more first-round selections in the NBA Draft over the last five years. Despite graduating program legends Grayson Murphy and Nick Muszynski and seven of the Bruins’ top eight scorers, Alexander led Belmont to a 21-11 record in its inaugural season in the always-competitive Missouri Valley Conference. Belmont earned season sweeps of regular season champion Bradley and 2022 regular season champion Northern Iowa. Belmont’s 14 conference victories also represented the most league victories in the nation for any program in its first year in a new league since 2016. Sheppard, Drew Friberg, Ja’Kobi Gillespie and Cade Tyson earned MVC conference honors. Belmont ranked Top 50 nationally in eight statistical categories, including seventh in 3-point field goal percentage and 17th in effective field goal percentage. Alexander was also named finalist for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award for the third time, an award he received in 2018. Belmont finished the 2021-22 season with a 25-8 record, and joined Saint Mary's (CA) and San Francisco as one of three programs (outside traditional multi-bid conferences) to earn at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament and National Invitation Tournament over the last 15 years. In 2020-21, Belmont went 26-4, which included 21 consecutive victories, an OVC-record 30 consecutive conference victories (over two seasons, including tournament), national Top 25 poll votes eight consecutive weeks and the program's 12th regular season conference championship in 16 years. Alexander led Belmont to Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2020, and the program's ninth NCAA Tournament bid since
16
2006. Alexander's 26 victories represented the most by any first-year head coach in NCAA Division I in 2019-20, and Belmont's victory at Boston College became the latest Power 5 Conference conquest. One of the most instrumental contributors to Belmont's ascension to national prominence in NCAA Division I and NAIA, Alexander spent six seasons as head coach at Lipscomb University. The Nashville native spearheaded a program renaissance, leading the Bisons to the best three-year stretch of their NCAA Division I era and the first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Lipscomb won 113 games during Alexander's tenure, including 72 over the final three campaigns. In addition, Lipscomb went 59-31 in Atlantic Sun Conference games and a sparkling 35-9 during the last three seasons. Prior to Lipscomb, Alexander spent two seasons as head coach at Stetson University. Inheriting a program that spent the previous decade under .500, Alexander led the Hatters to an 11-7 conference mark in Year 2; equaling the most league wins for Stetson since 1987. Prior to his first head coaching opportunity, Alexander spent two decades at Belmont; first as a player and later as a member of Rick Byrd's coaching staff. A product of nearby Brentwood Academy, Alexander played point guard for Byrd at Belmont from 1991-95. He compiled a 119-25 record as a player, and helped lead Belmont to the top of the NAIA. As a senior in 1995, Alexander directed the then-Rebels to a 37-2 record, a No. 1 national ranking and an appearance in the NAIA National Semifinals. From there, he spent 16 seasons as part of Byrd's coaching staff. Belmont won 287 games with Alexander on staff. Over Alexander's final eight seasons, the Bruins tallied 172 victories, six postseason appearances (four NCAA Tournaments, one NIT, one CIT), four Atlantic Sun Conference regular season championships, four Atlantic Sun Conference tournament titles, a remarkable 132-41 record in Atlantic Sun play, and road victories over Missouri, Alabama, and Cincinnati. Alexander played an integral role in the recruitment and development of Belmont standouts, such as NBA Champion Ian Clark ('13), Kerron Johnson ('13), Drew Hanlen ('12), Alex Renfroe ('09) and Justin Hare ('08). Alexander was inducted into the Belmont University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. He received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Belmont in 1995 and a master's degree in sports management from Austin Peay in 1996. Alexander and his wife, the former Sunni Dixon, also a 1995 Belmont graduate, are the parents of three children: Allie, Reed and Mason.

ASSISTANT MEN’S COACHES BRIAN AYERS—Associate Head Coach Brian Ayers (@coachbrianayers) begins his 26th season on the Bruins' coaching staff in 2023-24, 13th as associate head coach, and fifth as a member of Casey Alexander's staff. Ayers specializes in post-play instruction — offensive moves, footwork, positioning, and team defense. His instruction is one of the main reasons why Belmont is annually among the nation's leaders in field goal percentage shooting and offensive efficiency. Among the top post coaches in America, Ayers has worked with two of the NCAA's all-time leaders in field goal percentage - Evan Bradds ('17) and Adam Mark ('04). Eight of Ayers' last nine all-conference post players have gone onto professional playing careers, including 2018 graduate Amanze Egekeze. Himself a productive post player at Lipscomb University for college basketball's all-time winningest head coach Don Meyer, Ayers has been instrumental in developing Belmont's forwards and centers. Besides his work with the Bruins in the paint, he also handles opponent scouting, recruiting, and works in concert with the strength and conditioning staff on the individual workout programs for Belmont student-athletes. Ayers, a native of Clarksville, Tennessee, spent two years on staff at Vanderbilt University. During that time, the Commodores made one trip to the NCAA tournament. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at Austin Peay. While with the Governors' program, Austin Peay won the 1996 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Brian also served as an assistant coach at Nashville's David Lipscomb High School for one season, helping the Mustangs to a 28-6 record and the Class AA semifinals in 1995. Ayers played his college basketball at Lipscomb University. He served as team captain his junior and senior years and earned NAIA Academic AllAmerica honors. During Ayers' four year career, the Bisons compiled a record of 141-18 and advanced to one NAIA Final Four, two Elite Eights, and one Sweet Sixteen. He graduated from Lipscomb in 1993 while earning a master's degree in sports management from Austin Peay State University in 1996. Brian and his wife Jill, a 1989 Belmont graduate, have four sons between them: Daniel, Taylor, Liam and Luke. SEAN RUTIGLIANO—Assistant Coach Sean Rutigliano (roo-TILL-ee-AH-no) (@CoachRutigs) begins his fifth year as a member of the Belmont University men's basketball coaching staff in 2023-24. The personable and seasoned Rutigliano added to his growing coaching resume, contributing to Belmont's conference championship tradition and remarkable 98-30 record over the last four seasons. The Suffern, New York native handles video analysis through Synergy Sports, player development, scouting reports, recruiting, and other dayto-day activities. Rutigliano spent the four prior seasons as a member of Alexander's staff at Lipscomb. The Bison program reached new heights, with an NCAA Tournament appearance, an NIT Championship game appearance and 52 total wins over the last two years. Rutigliano coached All-Atlantic Sun
players Garrison Mathews, Rob Marberry and JC Hampton. He spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Army West Point, while also serving on staffs at Kean University (NJ), University of Alabama Huntsville and Ouachita Baptist University (AR) — where he worked alongside former Belmont assistant Mark Price. During his time in Huntsville, Rutigliano helped recruit the nucleus of the UAH 2010 NCAA Division II Elite Eight squad including Josh Magette, a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-American. "It's hard to put into words Sean's influence; his impact here at Belmont has been profound," Alexander said. "Sean is among the most relational - and relatable - coaches I know, is a relentless recruiter, and has a basketball mind that I rely on." Rutigliano graduated magna cum laude from Cortland State with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 2007. He earned his master's degree from Ball State University in 2010. Prior to attending Cortland, he earned an associate's degree from SUNY Rockland Community College where he was a two-sport standout in basketball and tennis. Rutigliano earned the SUNY Chancellor's award for student excellence and earned national academic recognition from the National Junior College Athletic Association. Rutigliano and his wife, Bridget, live in Nashville. The couple has one son, Kaleb. TYLER HOLLOWAY—Assistant Coach One of the top young coaches in college basketball, Tyler Holloway (@CoachTHolloway) returns in 2023-24 for his 15th season with Belmont Basketball, sixth as assistant coach and fifth as a member of Casey Alexander's staff. Holloway served as a graduate assistant for the Bruins during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, while earning his master's degree in Sport Administration from Belmont. He was elevated to director of basketball operations thereafter. During Holloway's time with the Bruins, Belmont has won 342 games – nearly 25 games per season – 15 conference championships (10 regular season, five tournament), and earned six NCAA Tournament bids (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2019, 2020). "Tyler is a well-rounded coach that has earned the appreciation of everyone affiliated with the program," Alexander said. "He is a go-getter, has high credibility from his playing career, and is willing to take on — and excel at — any task." The coaching veteran will continue to support the Bruin program in a number of capacities, including video analysis through Synergy Sports, player development, offensive play calling, scouting reports, recruiting, and other day-to-day activities. Holloway's individual skill development of Belmont backcourt players led to professional careers for the likes of NBA Champion Ian Clark, Cleveland Cavalier Dylan Windler, Indiana Pacer Ben Sheppard and fellow professionals Kerron Johnson, J.J. Mann, Craig Bradshaw, Austin Luke, Kevin McClain and Grayson Murphy.
Holloway was a four-year letterwinner at Murray State ('09), where he scored 1,083 career points and made 210 career 3-point field goals. The Decatur, Alabama native is married to the former Jelena Jozic. The couple has one son, Luka. KERRON JOHNSON—Director of Player Development One of the most decorated players in program history, Johnson returned to Belmont in 2022 after playing professionally for the past nine seasons. He earned all-league honors for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in Germany. "We're thrilled to have Kerron and his family back at Belmont," Alexander said. "As a player, Kerron was a great competitor, leader, and winner, while representing Belmont in a firstclass way. That class and character extended into his successful professional playing career. Our staff expects Kerron to provide the same kind of impact as a coach. Our players will benefit greatly from his presence."
Johnson is among an exclusive list of players in college basketball history to earn conference tournament Most Valuable Player honors in two different leagues (Atlantic Sun, 2012; OVC, 2013). His game-tying and game-winning shots in the 2013 OVC Championship victory over Murray State rank among the most recognizable moments in program history. The point guard led Belmont to conference championships in four consecutive seasons, including trips to the NCAA tournament in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The 2011 Belmont team went 30-5, winning conference games by an average of nearly 21 points per game, while the 2013 Belmont team was ranked No. 24 in the RPI. Johnson ranks among Belmont career leaders in points (1,388), assists (515), steals (206) and free throws made (511). The Huntsville, Alabama native was named 2009 Alabama Mr. Basketball. He was inducted into the Belmont Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021.
MEN’S BASKETBALL STAFF HARRISON GASCHO—Director of Basketball Operations Harrison Gascho returns for his fourth season with Belmont men's basketball in 2023-24, and second as director of player development. In that capacity, Gascho supports scouting reports, analytics, practice plans and individual player training, in addition to travel and administrative responsibilities.
KIM ANDERSON—Director of Sports Medicine Kim Anderson begins her 18th year at Belmont in the role of Director of Sports Medicine. In addition to overseeing the athletic training, sports medicine and rehabilitation needs of Belmont student-athletes, Anderson serves as primary sport contact for men's basketball.
Gascho spent two seasons (2020-22) as a graduate assistant with the Bruin program, part of OVC Championship teams.
Anderson played an integral role in Belmont's return to play during the pandemic, serving as primary intermediary between the athletic department and local. national and campus leaders on health and safety protocol.
The Statham, Georgia native served as a men's basketball team manager at the University of Georgia while working for Mark Fox and Tom Crean.
She is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University in 2003 with a B.S. in Athletic Training and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University with Master's degree in Sports Administration.
Gascho, whose grandfather and father were also basketball coaches, has also worked a number of camps throughout the country, including Butler, Duke, LSU and Purdue.

BELMONT EARNS MVC ALL-ACADEMIC AWARD BELMONT STUDENT-ATHLETES ADD TO NATIONAL REPUTATION FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE In July 2023, Belmont University was awarded the 2022-23 Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Award. During the 2022-23 academic year, Belmont student-athletes posted a 3.522 grade-point average, placing ahead of Evansville and Northern Iowa. Every year since 2002-03, the MVC All-Academic Award has been presented to the member institution that finishes the school year with the best grade-point average among its student-athletes who participate in a Valley-sponsored sport. Belmont University has now claimed a conference academic achievement award 20 of the last 22 academic years. It marks the 11th straight crown for Belmont, who claimed the honor every year of its membership in the Ohio Valley Conference (2012-22). "An important part of Belmont's vision is developing diverse leaders of character who will go on to make the world a better place," said Belmont President Greg Jones. "Our student-athletes exemplify this commitment through their excellence in their fields of play and in the classroom. We're so proud of how they represent us on both a regional and national stage." "Student-athlete achievement is an enormous source of pride for our athletic department, alumni and university as a whole," said Belmont Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Corley. "While this past year brought measures of change, including adjustments to travel and conference competition, our student-athletes embraced new opportunities presented through the Missouri Valley Conference with spirit and optimism. Winning this award in our inaugural year in the MVC is a testament to the determination and focus of our student-athletes. Belmont's extraordinary standard of academic excellence places us among the most prestigious universities in NCAA Division I." This past year, 87 percent of eligible Belmont student-athletes posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher, with a remarkable two-thirds earning a 3.5 GPA or higher. For the 2023 spring semester, the departmental grade-point average (GPA) was 3.523, which marked the 51st consecutive semester that Belmont student-athletes have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Belmont had 39 student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, including men's soccer student-athlete JP Armbruster, who was named Academic All-America. HEAD COACH BART BROOKS Overall Record: 146-46
Bart Brooks is in his seventh season at the helm of the Belmont University women’s basketball program in 2023-24. He was introduced as the fifth head coach of the Bruins on April 25, 2017. In his first six seasons leading Belmont, Brooks has posted a remarkable record of 146-46 (.760) and guided the Bruins to five conference regular season championships, four Championship titles, four NCAA tournament appearances and one postseason WNIT appearance. The third-fastest head coach to 100 career victories in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history, Brooks owns an astounding record of 97-12 (.890) against conference opponents, including league tournament games. Brooks has coached a total of 10 all-conference players, including eight firstteam selections, and mentored an OVC Player, Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year. Additionally, Belmont has had a student-athlete earn College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic AllAmerica status in four of Brooks’ five years in the Music City and a Bruin has been named Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year four times, including two-time DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete of the Year Conley Chinn, Ellie Harmeyer and Kylee Smith. The Bruins have earned a spot on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Honor Roll three times under Brooks’ leadership, checking in at No. 8 in the nation following the 202122 academic year for the team’s second-highest ranking ever. In 2021-22, Brooks took the Bruins (23-8, 16-2 OVC) to their second consecutive Round of 32 appearance in the NCAA Tournament after Belmont upset fifth-seeded Oregon 73-70 in a double-overtime First Round thriller. Tabbed OVC Coach of the Year, Brooks guided the Bruins to a sixth OVC Tournament title in seven seasons and a fifth OVC regular season championship in six years. Belmont became only the second program in history to win NCAA Tournament games in consecutive seasons as a No. 12 seed or lower. Within an eyelash of the program’s first Sweet 16, the Bruins rallied from a 14-point third-quarter deficit and led fourth-seeded and 18thranked Tennessee with under 30 seconds remaining. Belmont ended the year ranked 45th in the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings.
heroics of Maggard in the OVC Tournament title game, a thrilling overtime win over UT Martin, Belmont earned its first No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Brooks arrived at Belmont after spending the previous 11 seasons on staff at DePaul University under legendary head coach Doug Bruno. The Blue Demons made the NCAA Tournament every season of Brooks' tenure, standing as one of only six Division I women's basketball programs to make 15 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (Connecticut, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, Tennessee). During Brooks' time in the Windy City, DePaul posted a combined 266109 (.709) record, claiming six Big East Conference championships and advancing to the Sweet 16 three times (2011, 2014, 2016). In 2016-17, DePaul went 27-8, finishing No. 16 in the RPI and advancing to the NCAA Round of 32 before falling to national runner-up Mississippi State. Brooks has coached six WNBA draft choices – Jenna Rubino, Allie Quigley, Felicia Chester, Keisha Hampton, Brittany Hrynko, and Jessica January – the latter selected in the 2017 WNBA Draft. Prior to DePaul, Brooks began his coaching career at Division II Barry University in Miami, Florida, where he was an assistant coach for two seasons while earning his master's degree in sport management. He also served as an assistant camp director for the North Dakota State men’s basketball team in the summer of 2004 and coached local youth teams in the Buffalo, Wyoming, area from 2001-03. Brooks began his collegiate career at Dickinson State University in North Dakota where he played for two seasons for the Blue Hawks and helped his squad capture a pair of Dakota Athletic Conference titles and reach the NAIA Sweet 16 in 1999. His 2000 team advanced one step further with a NAIA Elite Eight showing. A native of Buffalo, Wyoming, Brooks earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and health from the University of Wyoming in 2004. He is married to the former Charlene Smith, who played five years professionally including time with the WNBA Houston Comets. They are parents to Trey and Tyler and reside in Nashville.
During a unique 2020-21 campaign due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Brooks-led Belmont had one of the most successful years in school history, which was notably capped off with the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament win. The 12th-seeded Bruins (21-6, 14-3 OVC) knocked off the fifth-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs on March 22, 2021, 64-59 to advance to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32. With its historic win, Belmont became the first OVC team to win a NCAA Tournament game since 1990. The First Round victory also marked Brooks’ 100th career win and he was later named TSWA Coach of the Year. Brooks steered the Bruins to one of their finest seasons in the program's NCAA history in 2017-18, and in so doing, orchestrated one of the greatest head coaching debuts in the history of college basketball. His 31 wins are tied for the second-most ever by a true first-year head coach in NCAA history. Belmont went 31-4 – highlighted by non-conference victories over Vanderbilt, Gonzaga and Florida Gulf Coast – and completed its secondstraight undefeated OVC season. Going a perfect 18-0 in league play, the Bruins secured a third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by extending their win streak against conference opponents to 46. Via the

ASSISTANT WOMEN’S COACHES JAMEY GIVENS—Associate Head Coach Respected in coaching circles around the country for his tireless work ethic and dedication to student-athletes, Givens has been head coach Bart Brooks’ top assistant since Brooks took over the reins of the program. Named associate head coach in June of 2021, Givens was selected as an assistant coach of the Bruins in late April of 2016. A critical member of Belmont’s staff during the Bruins’ most successful time as NCAA Division I members, Givens has helped the program reach unprecedented heights. During his time at Belmont, the Bruins have captured 11 combined conference championships, including six regular season and five tournament titles, and appearances in five of the last six NCAA Tournaments. In Givens’ first three seasons, the Bruins posted back-to-back undefeated OVC campaigns, reached a program-record 47-straight wins against league opponents, claimed six combined conference championships and earned three trips to the NCAA Tournament. In the following two seasons, Belmont collected back-to-back NCAA Tournament First Round victories after winning consecutive OVC Championship titles. Prior his arrival in the Music City, Givens spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Radford University in Radford, Virginia, where he helped the Highlanders to 35 victories – including a 27-13 mark in Big South Conference play – and a berth in the 2015 WNIT. Radford also witnessed a 10-win improvement from the 2013-14 season to the 2014-15 season. Prior to his time in southwest Virginia, Givens was the director of women's basketball operations at Wake Forest for two seasons. He held the same position at the Southern Conference’s UNC Greensboro for the 2011-12 season. Givens began his coaching career on Sue Semrau's staff at Florida State, assisting in all aspects of the program. He worked extensively with the Seminoles' post players, including 2010 WNBA first-round draft pick Jacinta Monroe and All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team member Cierra Bravard. Before joining FSU's staff, Givens was a recruiting writer and publisher for ESPN's NoleInsider.com, primarily covering college football. A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Givens earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies from FSU in 2008, graduating with cum laude honors, before attaining his master's degree in sport management from FSU in 2011. Givens is married to the former Elisabeth Holby and the couple have three daughters, Emma Ruth, Sophie and Julia. AMY MALO—Assistant Coach Amy Malo is in her eighth season as an assistant coach for Belmont women’s basketball. A staple on the Bruins’ staff since August of 2016, Malo has been a trusty advisor to head coach Bart Brooks since he took over the program in April of 2017. A crucial member of Belmont’s staff during the Bruins’ most successful time, Malo has helped the program reach unprecedented heights. Belmont has won a conference championship in each of Malo’s seven seasons with the Bruins capturing 11 combined league championships, including six regular season and five tournament titles.

Malo played collegiately at nearby Vanderbilt University from 2005-09, where she played alongside fellow Belmont assistant coach Jessica (Mooney) Holman (2006-10). During her time as a Commodore, the 6-foot-3 forward was a part of two Southeastern Conference Tournament titles, back-to-back trips to the Sweet 16 and four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances. Earning her Bachelor of Science degree in human and organizational development with an emphasis in leadership and organizational effectiveness in 2009, Malo attained her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in human resource development from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College in 2011. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Malo worked in the corporate leadership development field. In addition, she spent six years as the head coach of a local basketball club team that produced several Division I student-athletes. During the 2015-16 high school basketball season, Malo was an assistant coach at Brentwood Academy in nearby Brentwood, Tennessee. Malo helped the program earn its third-straight TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association) Division II Class AA state championship while also spending time as a junior varsity coach. While at Brentwood Academy, Malo coached current Bruin guards Blair Schoenwald (2020-present) and Sydni Harvey (2022-present). Malo resides in Nashville. JESSICA HOLMAN—Assistant Coach Jessica (Mooney) Holman is in her third season as an assistant coach for Belmont women’s basketball. No stranger to Nashville, nor the Belmont University campus, Holman joined head coach Bart Brooks’ staff in May of 2021. Assisting in all aspects of the program, Holman’s responsibilities include player development, scouting, recruiting and practice planning. With Holman on staff, the Bruins enjoyed another historic season in 2022-23, one which saw a regular season Missouri Valley Conference championship and a sixth-straight postseason tournament appearance. A Music City native who grew up on Compton Avenue at the exact location of the Bruins’ state-of-the-art Crockett Center for Athletic Excellence, Holman began her collegiate coaching career after spending over nine years as senior director of employee and community relations at Harvest Hands CDC. While serving the Christ-centered non-profit, Holman played an integral role in the organization’s missions of providing educational opportunities, healthy living, spiritual formation and economic development to South Nashville. After a decorated prep career at nearby Hillsboro High School, where she was a finalist for Tennessee Miss Basketball, Holman was a four-year letter winner at Vanderbilt University (2006-10). During her accomplished collegiate career, Holman won 102 games for the Commodores and played an important role in four consecutive NCAA Tournament teams, including two Sweet 16 appearances in 2008 and 2009. She was also a member of two Southeastern Conference Tournament championships and four-straight NCAA Tournament First Round victories.
Holman was a candidate for the 2010 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, which honors the attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. A teammate of fellow Belmont assistant coach Amy Malo (2005-09) at Vanderbilt, Holman was tabbed 2008 SEC Co-Sixth Woman of the Year following her sophomore campaign. Upon graduating, Holman served as an adjunct instructor at her alma mater, leading a course for junior and senior students majoring in human and organizational development. Holman has remained connected to the Vanderbilt program and contributed as a color analyst for game broadcasts on the SEC Network while working with former longtime Voice of the Bruins Kevin Ingram. Earning her bachelor's degree in human and organizational development in 2010, Holman added her Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a concentration in community development and action from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College in 2012. SALLY MCCABE—Director of Operations One of the best to ever don a Bruins jersey returned to the Belmont University women’s basketball program on May 31, 2022 as the program’s first director of operations. The 2023-24 season will be her 2nd on the staff. In her role, McCabe is responsible for the team’s logistical operations and travel while overseeing daily administrative duties. Upon finishing her highly-decorated athletic and academic career at Belmont in 2018, McCabe attended nearby Vanderbilt where
she received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in early childhood special education in May of 2020. For the next two years she worked in early education as an exceptional education teacher at Nations Ford Elementary in Charlotte, North Carolina, and most recently Granbery Elementary in Brentwood. During the 2021-22 basketball season, McCabe served as an assistant girl’s basketball coach at Brentwood Academy. A local native of Mt. Juliet, McCabe starred at Mt. Juliet High School before becoming the Bruins’ third all-time leading scorer of Belmont’s NCAA Division I era. Totaling 1,540 points across four seasons, McCabe’s 291 career blocks are the most ever by a Bruin and represent the OVC career record. The 6-foot-3 center also ranks among the top three in Belmont’s Division I era in rebounding (914), made field goals (648) and field goal attempts (1,286). McCabe’s 95 blocked shots during the 201617 season are the most in a single season in program history. Off the court, McCabe was a model student-athlete. She graduated with a 3.84 cumulative grade point average majoring in psychology and education. The 2016-17 OVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, McCabe was twice named to the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (D1AAA ADA) Scholar-Athlete Team and was a semifinalist for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award. She also garnered College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® honors as a senior and was the recipient of the 2018 OVC Steve Hamilton Sportsmanship Award. Having a heart for missions, McCabe twice served on medical mission trips to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and was actively involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) during her time as a student-athlete. In the community, McCabe has volunteered her time with Special Olympics Tennessee’s summer games. McCabe resides in Nashville.
