International Economics THE JACK C. MASSEY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

Granting students a Bachelor of Science degree instead of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, the International Economics major integrates the economic, social, political, cultural and linguistic components of the international economy and trade. Students in this major study the essential aspects of economic theory and application, international politics and society and foreign language and culture in a rigorous liberal arts environment. Belmont’s distinguished economics faculty includes a Fulbright Scholar to the College of the Bahamas, a Past President of the Tennessee Economic Association, an Editorial Board Member for the Journal for Economics Educators, a board member of the Tennessee Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and an appointment by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Tennessee Export Council. Together they have traveled to approximately 30 countries, have made significant contributions to the profession, have provided advice to numerous businesses, served as expert witnesses and enjoy sharing their knowledge with students. Belmont students can also gain valuable experience through faculty coordinated internships in fields such as government, economic market research, banking, finance, insurance and health care.
