At the Inman College of Nursing, we believe nursing is well-positioned to lead the innovation and transformation necessary to reimagine the future of health care and improve population health. We are passionate about developing visionary leaders and a future workforce equipped with knowledge, courage, curiosity and an innovative mindset.
We are honored to have you join us for a day of inspiration, collaboration and connection. DR. ORIANA BEAUDET
DNP, RN, PHN Vice President of Nursing Innovation, ANA Enterprise
Oriana Beaudet is the Vice President Innovation for the American Nurses Association Enterprise. The ANA Enterprise includes the American Nurses Association, American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Nurses Foundation. Prior to ANA, Dr. Beaudet ran her own business as a strategic partner for organizations, healthcare executives and startups.
Her last position as the Vice President of Transformation for a national healthcare design firm she focused on strategy and business development for national health systems around operational and business innovations; simulation modeling and technology; design of the built space and care delivery design. She currently sits on the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy — Expert Advisory Council for Transformation and the Governing Directors Board for the Alliance for Nursing Informatics. Dr. Beaudet completed her doctorate in nursing practice in Health Innovation Leadership with an emphasis in Design from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing.

The nursing profession has a rich history of inventing solutions for patient needs and by redefining and reimagining the future role of nurses and nursing — and it all starts with the work we lead today.”
RICK REKEDAL
Executive Director, Creative Arts Collective Belmont University
Rick Rekedal is an award-winning, master storyteller bringing truth, light and lessons through the power of story, arts and artistic expression throughout his threedecade career.
Rick’s expertise is centered in a heart for reaching families right where they are, including more than 20 years with DreamWorks Studios, where his roles included Chief Creative, Global Franchises; Global Head of Interactive and Online and Head of Consumer Products, Licensing & Retail. Major properties include The Prince of Egypt, Spirit, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon, Trolls, The Lost World: Jurassic Park; Men in Black, Small Soldiers and Saving Private Ryan. Also, Rick was a key part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Rick’s work has been recognized with two Annie Awards for Best Animated Videogame; two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for Videogame of the Year; Family Board Game of the Year and Action Figure of the Year. Rick has developed IP with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment; an animated preschool series for YouTube; and original book titles with VeggieTales co-creator Mike Nawrocki.
In 2023, Rick was interim CEO and President of David C Cook & Integrity Music as part of his consulting company TheStoryCrate.com, leading Cook/Integrity to three USA Today bestsellers and cresting over 1 million YouTube subscribers, reaching 237 countries with over 300 million views. Through StoryCrate Rick has developed original intellectual properties including Shapes: Rise of the Jaggeds, a graphic novel series published by Cave Pictures Publishing; and One Small Step, a personal story of a young family dealing with the effects of suicide and alcoholism recovery. A new title (Un)Varnished: The Cry of Ramah, is scheduled for release in 2025.
In January 2024, Rick joined Nashville-based Belmont University as Chief Creative Officer and Executive Director of the Creative Arts Collective, funded by a $32MM grant from the Lilly Endowment. Rick also serves Belmont in a residency as Senior Fellow for Storytelling and is a trustee with Los Angeles Pacific University. Father to three strong independent daughters, Rick has been married to his wife Vicki for over 30 years.

MORGAN MELANCON MSN, RN, CCRN-K
Morgan Melancon is the Director of Nursing Education and Professional Development at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. A passionate advocate for nursing innovation, Melancon has been instrumental in transforming the Nurse Residency and Nurse Externship programs into novel, cutting-edge structures, resulting in record-high enrollment. Her innovative recruitment initiative led to a remarkable 230% increase in applications. Melancon holds an Executive Leadership MSN degree and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University. Before St. Jude, she spent 10 years in pediatric critical care at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
JULIE HONEY DNP, APRN, PNP, FNP
Dr. Julie Honey is the Dean of Nursing at Belmont University and Executive Director of Partners in Nursing. She has extensive experience as a certified pediatric and family nurse practitioner, professor and academic leader. She is committed to enhancing health outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement and authentic leadership. In addition to her contributions to higher education, she was the co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of a nurse practitioner-owned pediatric asthma practice in New York.
Dr. Honey’s research interests currently focus on investigating the role of faculty in recognizing emotional distress in nursing students and discovering successful ways to enhance resiliency in healthcare students and professionals.
WHITNEY STAUB-JUERGENS DNP-HSL, MSN, RN, NE-BC
Whitney Staub-Juergens is Vice President of Clinical Operations and Integration for HCA Healthcare’s Care Transformation and Innovation (CT&I) team. Prior to this role, she was the corporate Assistant Vice President of Care Delivery and Integration and CT&I Clinical Operations and has served as both a hospital-based nurse practitioner and executive nurse leader in various operations roles.
She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP-HSL/minor in Health Systems Leadership) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN/Adult Nurse Practitioner). Whitney has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and holds two certifications, Nurse Executive (NE-BC) from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and Product Management & Strategy from the Wharton School of Business.
SHELBY L. GARNER PhD, RN, CNE, FAAN, CGNC
As the Director of Global Health Innovation at Belmont University and a Certified Global Nurse Consultant credentialed by the International Council of Nurses, Dr. Garner leads innovative initiatives to strengthen nursing capacity in Indonesia, India, Ukraine, Tanzania and Kenya. Her research, scholarship and service trajectories have focused on coming alongside nurses in international settings to strengthen nursing and health system capacity for the last 15 years. She is currently leading a study funded by the US Agency for International Development and Foreign Commonwealth Development Office to strengthen capacity in climate advocacy and gender equity in Tanzania. Dr. Garner serves on the Global Health Expert Panel as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
PAMELA MCCUE PhD, RN
Pamela McCue is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nurses Middle College or NursesMC, the nation’s only network of public high schools dedicated solely to preparing students for a nursing career. Dr. McCue opened the flagship school, RI Nurses Institute Middle College in 2011 where today it is ranked the #1 high school in the state for students earning patient care credentials and college credits by high school graduation. A Registered Nurse who began her nursing career in RI, she holds a BSN in Nursing, an MS in Nursing Administration, and a PhD in Nursing, with a research focus on nursing workforce diversity.
ROBIN MUTZ MPPM, BSN, RN-C, NEA-BC; Moderator
Robin Mutz is the Nurse Leader in Residence at the Center for Nursing Innovation at Belmont University. With over 45 years nursing experience in leadership, design, construction and innovation, Robin has held several executive leadership positions with large academic medical centers. Robin recently retired as the Executive Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Robin earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a master’s degree in public and private management in healthcare administration from Birmingham Southern College. Robin is certified by NCC as an Ambulatory Women’s Healthcare Nurse and by ANCC as a Nurse Executive-Advanced.
