SUMMER ACCOUNTING INSTITUTE (SAI)
Massey College of Business offers a unique program for prospective Master of Accountancy (MAcc) students who have not completed the prerequisite 18 hours of undergraduate accounting course work. SAI satisfies all prerequisites needed for success in Massey’s MAcc program. SAI is the only AACSB-accredited program of its kind in Tennessee that combines a work-friendly, fast-track approach to preparing non-accounting undergraduate majors for Massey’s MAcc program. SAI participants will finish the summer with 10 hours of upper-level accounting to use toward their CPA eligibility. Classes are scheduled to meet the needs of working professionals and are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings (6:15 p.m.–9 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m.–5 p.m.).
Accountants are in demand and recruiters want to meet with our SAI students before our annual Meet the Firms event, which is held in early fall. Accounting recruiters will visit periodically during SAI classes to meet with students and discuss the accounting industry and career opportunities in their firms. Students typically accept their first accounting job offers in September.
SAI INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING COURSES AND SUBJECTS:
• Financial Accounting
• Cost Accounting
• Tax Accounting
• Audit Accounting
• Excel Workshop
• Career Planning
