Welcome Week is part of our Towering Traditions (TT) Orientation Program. TT is designed to connect you to our community, prepare you for all facets of life at Belmont, and help you feel at ease as you enter into this next chapter of your life. Not to mention, TT is full of unforgettable experiences! We hope that you dig deep during these next four days. Show up and bring your passions, abilities and curiosity to the table. Ask questions. Meet people. Be yourself. Reflect often. Soak in the memories.This is your college journey, and we hope you fully lean into this experience. Main Session 1: “Welcome to Belmont”
6:30–7:15 p.m. | Curb Event Center Welcome to Belmont! You’ve finally made it, and we are excited for you to be a part of our community. Join the Orientation Council, President Fisher, Tower Team Leaders and University Staff as you learn about the amazing journey you are about to begin.
Tower Jam: Meet Your TT Group
7:15–9 p.m. | Curb Event Center At this time, students will meet their TT Group. Each TT Group consists of 10–20 new students and is led by a Tower Team Leader (an upperclassman). Jump in on the fun and get connected to your Bruin community!
Catholic Mass
9:30–10:30 p.m. | Janet Ayers Academic Center University Chapel Catholic Mass will be held in the University Chapel and is open to anyone wishing to participate.

Worship Service
8:45–9:30 a.m. | Curb Event Center Begin your Sunday Towering Traditions experience with a time of worship and celebration! This meaningful time of song, prayer, scripture reading and short meditation from our University Minister sets the tone for the academic year. All are welcome for this time of reflection and celebration.
Matriculation Ceremony
9:45–10:30 a.m. | Curb Event Center Each year, Belmont University welcomes its new students with a Matriculation Ceremony to signify their acceptance into the school’s academic program. Students recite the Community Commitment and Academic Integrity Pledges—which are commitments to themselves, to their peers and to the University.
Sunday Brunch
10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | Harrington Place Dining The Harrington Place Dining will be open for Sunday Brunch. Students are able to use their meal plans. Parents wishing to eat on campus will need to use their pre-paid lunch ticket. At 2 p.m. students will begin participating in student-only programming. Parents, we ask for you to plan travel accordingly to leave campus by 1:30 p.m. allowing your student to fully participate in Welcome Week.

1–1:45 p.m. | Welcome Week Group Rooms Once you’ve said goodbye to your parents and family members, reconnect with your TT Group in your specific breakout room before student-only programming begins.

2–4 p.m. | Curb Event Center It is time for our first student-only main session! Trust us, we are going to have some good times together. To kick things off, join us as Dr. Syb, University Ministries, and the Orientation Council explore the power of stories.
Church Fair
4–6 p.m. | Maddox Grand Atrium Now is the time to get plugged into a local church! The Office of University Ministries has invited more than 60 different local churches (representing various Christian denominations) to campus to give you a chance to meet church leaders, talk with Belmont students involved at each church, and begin the process of finding a new church home.
Dinner
4:30–6:30 p.m. | Harrington Place Dining You’ll eat with your Tower Team Group during dinner, have the opportunity to visit the Church Fair and have a little down time before evening activities.
Main Session 3: “A Community of Care”
6:30–9 p.m. | Curb Event Center Here at Belmont, we believe caring is cool. At this main session, hear more about Belmont’s commitment to each other, our commitment to our core community values and the implications these commitments have for our day-to-day life together.

monday, august 21 Music Placement Assessments
8–10 a.m. | Wilson Music Building 121 Music Placement Assessments are for Music Majors only. If you have auditioned and been accepted to the School of Music and declared music as your major, you must arrive promptly to take the music assessment. The results of the assessments provide information related to the planning of your academic schedule. These placements are for both August orientation students as well as student re-takes from June orientation sessions.

Main Session 4: “A Community of Learning”
10–11:30 a.m. | Curb Event Center College is all about learning. And here at Belmont, we are down with learning. Join us as Dr. David Dark (always a crowd favorite) shares with us his wisdom on learning as a lifestyle.

Student Employment Fair
11:30–1:15 p.m. | Maddox Grand Atrium If you are interested in a job on-campus or working with an organization in the Nashville community, you will want to take advantage of our employment fair. Bring a copy of your fall semester schedule and come prepared to interview with several different representatives.
Solar Eclipse Experience
12:30–2 p.m. | The Main Lawn This is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Join us on the lawn as we together watch science happen. You won’t want to miss this! 6 | BELMONT UNIVERSITY

2–3 p.m. | Welcome Week Group Rooms Finding your way around to your classes on day one can be challenging. Bring your class schedule and get the ins and outs on how to navigate your first day of classes.

2–4:30 p.m. | First year students | Johnson Theater 2:20–4:30 p.m. | Transfer students | Beaman A&B If you have not yet registered for courses, you will need to attend this course registration opportunity. By the end of this 2-hour session, you will have your fall semester course schedule ready to go. Make sure to know your MyBelmont login information for this session.
Organize Your Room
3–4 p.m. | Your Residence Hall Sometimes, you just need space to organize your room and settle in to life in your new home. Head to your residence hall and meet your neighbors as you finish setting up your room.

Main Session 5: “Bruin Blitz”
7–9 p.m. | Curb Event Center The biggest, craziest, loudest and most spirited Belmont Bruins fans go to Bruin Blitz. Athletic events bring the campus together, so get ready to learn the cheers, chants and moves so you be ready for game day. You will also learn about other involvement opportunities in this key Welcome Week event.

Mathematics Placement Test
9–10 a.m. | McWhorter 110 The Mathematics Placement Test is for any student who expects to take several mathematics courses (primarily BBA and BS students) and who has a Math ACT below 22 or a Math SAT below 520. The test will be used to place you in an appropriate beginning mathematics course.
Main Session 6: “Your Community”
10–11:15 a.m. | Curb Event Center For our final main session, hear from members of the Orientation Council on making the most of the Belmont community. You will also hear from Nashville’s Mayor Megan Barry as we prepare for our SERVE experience.

Life Under the Tower
9–10 p.m. | Bell Tower End your Welcome Week experience with the annual gathering of new students at the Bell Tower the night before classes begin. This event brings the spirit of Belmont forward from past to the present as we come together “to ensure Belmont College of days more glorious and opportunities more abundant.” (Quoted from a Founder’s day address by Dr. Gabhart, March 11, 1963).
