‘Chileboutique’ Interior design for a winery with warehouse in an industrial building 2007 Ghent - Belgium Actual situation: Industrial building alongside the canal Ghent – Bruges.
Design: The lofty space is defined by an intimate volume containing offices, sanitary and storage rooms, and a folded surface. The fold refurbishes part of the wall and ceiling, it improves the acoustical qualities and it provides the room with the necessary fire protection.

‘Courthouse Brussels’ International ideas contest for the Brussels courthouse, designed by Poelaert.
2011 Brussels - Belgium Actual situation: The Brussels Courthouse (Place Poelaert, 1) defines the skyline of Brussels but is also suffering from various problems in terms of security, functionality, energy profile, stability issues, fire protection, HVAC, elevators, ... All these issues are particularly hard to solve as the building is part of the protected patrimony of the city of Brussels. An exceptionally strong view is necessary for the Courthouse be modernised and preserved at the same time.
Design: Retaining judicial services in the basement floors. Creating openings in the base, keep the present entries. Extending the judicial services under the Place Poelaert. Redesign the Place Poelaert and the streets around the courthouse. New landmark at the other end of the axis Courthouse-Royal Palace. New functions in the courthouse: hotel, congress centre, offices, casino, restaurants and bars

‘Hidden Agenda’ Entrance Underground 2001 Berlin- Germany Design: Design for pop-up entrances to the Berlin underground network of subterranean spaces and connections. Their shapes and colors vary according to the underground activity or theme. The construction consists of hydraulic cylinders guaranteeing an infinite number of shapes.

‘Deconstructive Rock ‘n Roll ’ Interior design for a bar 2006 Ghent - Belgium Design: The 2 storey’s are connected through a void surrounded by a steel mesh (“the cage”), at the same time protecting the bar and bartender underneath. The red paneling of the bar on the ground floor follows the black steel staircase as a ribbon to the second floor.

‘The Tower’ Apartmentbuilding with commercial groundfloor 2005 Ghent - Belgium Design: The building is situated on a corner of the main square in downtown Ghent, facing the Saint Nicolas church. On one side the natural stone cladding has a rough texture, panels for the main façade towards the square, referring to the surrounding historical buildings. On the other side the texture is smooth, following the horizontal lines of the neighboring houses’ street façades.

‘De Rouwzone’ Preliminary design for a funeral hall
2008 St.Niklaas - Belgium Actual situation: The cemetery and surroundings of the city of Sint Niklaas with a new crematorium designed by Coussée & Goris architects and by Claus en Kaan architects.
Design: A building contractor wishes to renovate his private home and Our client, an undertaker, wishes to build a funeral hall close to the new crematorium. The complex program consist of a funeral shop, offices, 3 ceremony halls, utility spaces, and a private house close to the funeral hall.
