Securing the transport of dangerous goods

Transporting dangerous goods is the core business of BVT, a subsidiary of the Apave Group. It has built its reputation around its technical expertise in the inspection of packaging destined for the transport of dangerous goods, then in training. BVT is authorised by both national (Ministry in charge of the Transport of Dangerous Goods) and international authorities.

Testing laboratory

BVT, authorised by the Ministry in charge of Transport, issues approval certificates for all types of packaging materials intended for the packaging of dangerous Goods for transport, by any means: road, air and sea.

We perform all the tests called for under the ADR Regulations

• Drop tests

• Air-tightness tests

• Hydraulic pressure tests

• Stacking tests

• Vibration tests

On all types of packaging

• Crate (cardboard, wood, metal, plastic)

• Drums and jerry cans (plastic, metal, cardboard)

• Bags (plastic, paper)

• IBCs: metal and plastic

• Large packaging: metal and plastic

Your packaging must be approved to enable a safe transportation of your dangerous goods around the world.

Equipment adapted to meet international requirements

• Two 80m3 hot chambers at +40°C for undertaking stacking tests on plastic packaging and IBCs

• One 100m3 hot chamber at +40°C for accelerating the chemical ageing of plastic packaging and IBCs including the use of standard liquids

• One 30m3 cold chamberfor pre-conditioning plastic packaging and IBCs prior to drop tests

• One 67m3 air-conditioned room at 23°C and 50% relative humidity for pre-conditioning cardboard packaging prior to tests

• One transport simulation table to test your packaging against vibratory constraints

Training in the transport of dangerous goods

40 training courses for all types of transport

Your trusted partner for training your personnel involved in the Transport of Dangerous Goods chain, covering all modes of transport: road (ADR), air (IATA) and maritime (IMDG).

BVT favours active teaching methods for its training courses, based on the application of regulatory texts, allowing its learners to immerse themselves in real-life work situations.

Our objective: to quickly prepare participants so that they are autonomous and operational upon leaving the training course.
