AUDREY FITZJOHN SHARES TWO SWEET PROJECTS PERFECT FOR HOMEMADE (AND KID - MADE) GIFT GIVING THIS CHRISTMAS.
HOT CHOCOLATE SPOONS Makes 5 You will need: • 5 mini muffin cups • 5 wooden spoons • 200g dark chocolate • 5 cellophane bags • String or ribbon Method: 1 With the help of an adult, melt the dark chocolate either in a microwave or in a bain-marie. 2 Carefully pour the melted chocolate in the mini muffin cups and place a wooden spoon in each one. 3 Let the chocolate harden completely before placing the chocolate spoons into cellophane bags tied up with a nice ribbon or pretty string. 4 You can gift the chocolate spoon in a nice mug too. To make the hot chocolate drink, simply place spoon in a mug of hot milk, melt chocolate and stir.

COOKIE MIX IN A JAR Makes one jar of mix, for 15 cookies You will need: • A 1 litre glass jar with a lid • String and a paper tag • 70g cocoa • 110g brown sugar • 130g raw sugar • 150g flour • 100g milk chocolate buttons • 100g white chocolate buttons • 70g pecans Method: 1 Pour the raw sugar into the bottom of the jar to form an even layer. 2 Add the flour, cocoa, brown sugar, white chocolate buttons, milk chocolate buttons and pecans in the same even manner. 3 Screw the lid tightly onto the jar, tie a piece of string around it, and attach a paper tag. 4 On the back of the paper tag, or on a separate piece of paper, write the following baking instructions: Baking instructions: Preheat the oven to 160°C. Mix the contents of the jar with 150g of soft butter and 1 egg. Roll dough into golf ball sized balls, flatten them slightly and bake for 20 minutes. Leave to cool completely.

wooden spoons TAKE STIRRING TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL WITH THESE DIPPED WOODEN SPOONS, AN EASY AND STRIKING PROJECT THAT MAKES A GREAT GIFT.
You will need: • Wooden spoons, ours are from Father Rabbit • Masking tape • Paintbrush • Resene Testpots in the colours of your choice Method: 1 Apply masking tape to the handles of your spoons to create a clean-line finish. If you’re doing more than one, align the spoons at the handle end to measure the painted area to the same height - or you can mix up the heights if you like. 2 Paint below the masking tape, allow to dry and apply a second coat. Note: The Resene Metallic paint range requires a base coat of a different colour, specified in the image top right. Apply the base coat colour first, then the metallic colour over top - the Resene Metallic paints look fabulous! 3 Once paint is dry, remove the tape and enjoy!

Christmas craft BRING THE SCANDINAVIAN LOOK TO YOUR DECORATIONS THIS CHRISTMAS WITH A SIMPLE AND ELEGANT BEAD GARLAND CRAFT.
You will need: • Wooden beads in what ever size(s) you like • Natural string • Scissors • Large needle for threading Method: 1 Plan out your desired design pattern. We chose five large round beads to one small oval bead. 2 Work out how long you’d like your garland to be to ensure you have enough beads. We had 100 round beads and 50 oval beads, and threaded beads until we ran out. 3 Place the string through the needle and thread the beads in the order you’ve planned until they’re all used. 4 Allow a generous amount of string at each end and tie it around the final beads at each end. Then tie a looped knot so you can hang it – either to your Christmas tree, or on hooks at each end to decorate an interior space. Enjoy!
