Q:What facilities are free as a student? A: As a currently enrolled student, the general fee covers access to the following: Aquatic Center, Bird Arena, the Disc Golf Course, Outdoor Tennis Courts, Ping Recreation Center, group fitness classes, Outdoor Pursuits’ Climbing Wall and the Walter Fieldhouse. Please reference the hours for each individual facility and program. Additionally, Campus Recreation hosts events and programs throughout the year that are free to students at these facilities. Q:What happens if I forget my ID? Can I still get into the Ping Center? A: Ping Center will allow each student to enter the facility once per year without their Student ID--BUT you must present an alternative form of ID. After that, students must pay the daily fee or come back with their Student ID. Q: Can I climb the rock wall at Ping Center? A: Yes! The climbing wall at Ping Center is available all Ohio University enrolled students. To climb the rock wall, simply show your student ID to the person working at the Outdoor Pursuits Service Center located to the right of the wall. It is required that you wear athletic shoes, or you may rent climbing shoes at the wall. Q: Am I able to use the facilities during summer if I am not enrolled in classes? A: You must be enrolled in the current academic semester to use our facilities. When you are not enrolled, you are not paying the general fee that provides students access. However, you may purchase a discounted membership for the summer. Q: How can I work for Campus Recreation? A: All of our facilities and programs are student-run, so there are plenty of opportunities for student employment. Check the employment section of our website for opportunities in each facility. All positions require a resume and cover

letter as part of the application. Q: Is there a place I can keep my belongings when I work out? A: Ping Center, the Aquatic Center and the Golf & Tennis Center all have options for semester or annual locker rentals. This option allows you to leave belongings in the lockers at all times. You may bring your own lock each time you use the facilities. However, you must remove the lock and your belongings each day. Quarter lockers are also available in the Ping Center. Q: How can I get involved in Club Sports? A: Each individual club team has its own organizational structure and schedule. Contact specific teams to inquire about their try-outs, fees and other details. For up-todate contact names and emails, visit www. ohio.edu/recreation/club/teamIndex.cfm. Q: If I want to play Intramural Sports but don’t have a team, can I still play? A: Yes! During registration for each session, we host “free agent” meetings. These meetings are designed for those looking to join a team to connect with team captains and other new participants. Free agents simply show up to the applicable meeting time for each sport. From there, our staff will assist you in finding a team. Q: Do I need to bring my own towel to the pool? A: You are welcome to bring your own towel, but it is not necessary. With your student ID, you may borrow a towel for free at front desk of the Aquatic Center. When you are finished, simply return it to the desk. Q: Are the facilities open during holiday breaks? A: All facilities operate on holiday hours and University Calendars and are subject to modified hours and closures. You can stay updated with special hours for each on the Campus Recreation website and social media accounts.
