MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

We are

your go-to source

Bill redesign debut, member appreciation survey, and Solar 101 meeting Your cooperative strives to be your go-to source for information. We’re here for our members. • T hat’s why we are updating our billing statement: to provide you with better, clearer information on your energy use. • I t’s why we hold member appreciation events: so you can meet our employees and see firsthand that your cooperative supports family.

George Carter

PRESIDENT AND CEO

• Finally, it’s why we host events like the Solar 101 meeting: to equip members with information so they can make the best decision for themselves. We want you to know the cooperative policies and procedures before making a purchase decision. There are two principles from the Seven Cooperative Principles that guide us in assisting members: Education, Training and Information and Concern for Community. The events we host and the programs we have help us fulfill these two important principles.

Bill redesign debuts this month On page 22D, we are excited to display our new bill format. September is the month this new bill layout debuts, and we think you will find it much easier to read. The new bill design has more data on your electric use, including two years of consumption data to see your seasonal trends. There are no new charges on the bill, and we have not increased our rates. We are simply trying to provide members with a clean, simplified electric bill that helps them better understand their electric usage.

Member Appreciation recap and survey Our Member Appreciation Drive-In Movie Night, held on July 24, was a huge success (page 22B). Over 700 members

and their families attended, which was the largestever member appreciation event attendance. Members from all areas of the cooperative’s service territory attended and enjoyed two choices of dinosaurthemed movies. We wanted to treat our members to a very special time as a thank you for your patronage in your cooperative. Prior to the pandemic, we hosted our member appreciation event at the Paulding County Fairgrounds. Last year, we had to cancel the event due to the pandemic. This year, we chose a family friendly but still safe, reduced-contact event at the drive-in theater because we weren’t sure what event regulations would be in place due to COVID-19. The location of the Van-Del Theater in Middle Point, Ohio, is centrally located in the cooperative’s service territory and easily accessible for most members. That said, we would like to hear from you as we begin planning for next year’s event. What type of member appreciation event would you like to see? Please take our survey on our website at www.PPEC.coop/membersurvey.

RSVP for Solar 101 On Sept. 15 at 6:30 p.m., we will be hosting a Solar 101 member informational meeting. Are you thinking of installing a solar unit at your home or business? If so, this might be the session for you. We will be discussing all the basics: from applying to billing to solar generation credits. Our staff will be there to assist and answer your questions so you can make a good decision for your home or business. Learn more on page 22A.
