Buckeye REC donates books for children
Dolly Parton has a passion for putting books into the hands of children, and Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative is proud to support her mission. Parton started the Imagination Library in 1995 in her hometown of Locust Ridge in Sevier County, Tennessee. The program provides ageappropriate books every month to children up to age 5

Community investment is at the core of the Imagination Library. Through a collaboration between Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Buckeye REC was able to donate books to T.J.’s Daycare in Gallipolis, Ohio, in conjunction with “International Give a Book Day” on February 14 . “We know that good reading habits start early,” said Buckeye Rural CEO Kent Eldridge. “It is our hope that donating these books has a positive and significant impact on the youth of our rural areas.”
