Legislative Conference Electric Cooperatives lobby at Ohio Statehouse
On May 3, leaders from Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives gathered for OEC’s Day at the Statehouse. Co-op leaders, including Buckeye REC CEO Kent Eldridge, stressed top issues with state representatives: reinvesting kilowatt-hour tax dollar in local communities, coal combustion residuals reform, and problematic biennial budget language relating to electric vehicle charging stations.
Eldridge remarked on the visit, “This was a great opportunity to meet with men and women who shape our laws and rules, which ultimately impact our members and cooperative. I was impressed with the leaders who had taken the time and effort to better understand our industry and how their actions impact their constituents.”
