Doug Simon, Pioneer’s substation and field technician, retired on June 8, 2023, after 34 years of service to Pioneer. During Doug’s time at Pioneer, he has been a valuable asset in various areas of the cooperative — a true jack of all trades. He began his career at Pioneer as a groundman trainee before becoming a first-class lineman. He later became a staking engineer, then worked for the member servicees department and as an energy advisor before taking on the substation and field technician role.
“Doug has been very reliable and detail oriented, and was always willing to respond to after-hours outages,” says Lynn Maniaci, director of technical services and engineering. “He did a great job preparing for projects and provided great input on the projects he worked on. Doug was a great asset to the Technical Services and Honda/KTH on-call group, and to Pioneer’s entire membership.”
Best wishes, Doug!
