Western Pleasure & Hunter Under Saddle Conditions

1. THE CONGRESS SOUTHERN BELLE BREEDERS CLASSES
A. Congress Southern Belle Breeders classes will be held concurrently with the following futurity classes (including Open, Limited Open, Non Pro and Limited Non Pro divisions): 2-Year-Old Maiden Open Western Pleasure Futurity, 3-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure Futurity, 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, 2-Year-Old Open Maiden Hunter Under Saddle Futurity, and 3-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle Futurity.
B. Congress Southern Belle Breeders classes will be held concurrently with the following stakes classes (including applicable Open, Limited Open, Non Pro and Limited Non Pro divisions): Yearling Open Western Longe Line Stakes, Yearling Non Pro Western Longe Line Stakes, Yearling Open Hunter Longe Line Stakes, Yearling Non Pro Hunter Longe Line Stakes, 2-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure Stakes, 2-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle Stakes, 3-Year-Old Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Stakes, Maturity $10,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure Stakes, 3-Year-Old Open Trail Stakes, 4 & 5-Year-Old Open Trail Stakes, and 4 & 5-Year-Old Non Pro Trail Stakes.
C. Entries for the Congress Southern Belle Breeders classes (except the Congress Southern Belle Breeders 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure Futurity) are due August 25th. Horses must enter the Congress Futurity or Stakes class to be eligible to enter the corresponding Congress Southern Belle Breeders class.
2. LIMITED DIVISION ENTRY
All entries with eligible riders will automatically be entered in the Limited Open or Limited Non Pro division. No additional payment for the Limited division is required.
3. LIMITED DIVISION ELIGIBILITY
A. Western Pleasure
1. The top 35 Open Western Pleasure (Open & Limited) riders based on monies won in all Congress Open Western Pleasure futurity and stakes classes over the last five years, will not be eligible for the Limited division.
2. The top 15 Non Pro Western Pleasure (Non Pro & Limited) riders based on monies won in all Congress Non Pro Western Pleasure futurity and stakes classes over the last five years, will not be eligible for the Limited Non Pro division.
B. Hunter Under Saddle
1. The top 15 Open Hunter Under Saddle (Open & Limited) riders based on monies won in all Congress Open Hunter Under Saddle futurity and stakes classes over the last five years will not be eligible for the Limited Open division.
2. The top 10 Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle (Non Pro & Limited) riders based on monies won in all Congress Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle futurity and stakes classes over the last five years will not be eligible for the Limited Non Pro division.
4. RIDER CHANGES
A. Riders must be named at the time the final payment is made.
B. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to report rider changes. Please confirm riders when back numbers are received.
C. Due to the absolute accuracy required to maintain the Congress ineligible rider list, rider changes must be reported to the entry office in Congress Hall no later than 12:00 p.m. the day before the first class.
D. Any horse or rider shown that differs from the official class list maintained by the entry office in Congress Hall will result in disqualification of the entry.
5. “ TWO GO ” FUTURITY CLASSES
• 2-Year-Old Maiden Open Western Pleasure Futurity (Open & Ltd)
• 2-Year-Old Maiden Open Hunter Under Saddle Futurity (Open & Ltd)
A. In the 2-Year-Old Maiden Open Western Pleasure and the 2-Year-Old Maiden Open Hunter Under Saddle, there will be two go-rounds, plus a final for the Open division and a final for the Limited division. The top 12 placings in the first go-round and the second go-round of futurity classes will be eligible for the Open finals. All limited rider finalists in each go-round will be eligible for the Limited Open finals. Entries placing 12th or above in the first go-round are not eligible to show in the second go-round. Entries placing below 12th may show in the second go-round, if they wish. The top 12 placings in the first goround and the second go-round will each receive $500. After the $12,000 go-round money has been deducted from the purse, 60% of the remaining purse will be paid to the Open division finals and 40% will be paid to the Limited Open division finals.
B. A horse must have the same rider in the prelims and finals. Any change in riders between prelims and finals must be approved by the show management, for dire emergencies only.
C. There will be three judges for each go-round. There will be four judges for the open division finals and four judges for the limited division finals. Low score will be dropped.
6. “ ONE GO ” FUTURITY AND STAKES CLASSES - Limited Riders See C. Below
A. All futurity and stakes classes, except the two classes listed in #5 above, will be a one-go format.
B. In the one-go format, the open division will be placed at the conclusion of the go.
C. All Limited riders who enter the arena, show and complete the go are automatically eligible for the limited finals.
D. Limited division finals will run independently on a different day.
E. There will be four judges for the open division and four judges for the limited division. Low score will be dropped.
7. DIVISION OF PURSE
60% of the purse will be paid to the Open division finals and 40% will be paid to the Limited division finals.
8. PAY BACK SCHEDULE
Classes will follow the NSBA pay back schedule.
9. TIES
Ties will be broken by a designated tie-breaker judge. The winner will be determined by final placings.
10. NSBA MEMBERSHIP/HORSE REGISTRATION
NSBA membership of owners and exhibitors is mandatory. Certificate of Eligibility required for horses.
