It is such an honor to, once again, be the Host City for Heartland Travel Showcase! There is so much we want you to learn about our beautiful city, here, along the western shore of Lake Erie. Many of you know us as the “Glass Capital of the World”, with Libbey Glass, OwensIllinois, Inc., Owens Corning, Inc. and many other corporate giants calling Toledo and NW Ohio their home. We are also headquarters for the world famous Jeep and boast the internationally known Tony Packo’s Hungarian Hot Dog, as well as being considered by ornithologists as the “Warbler Capital” of the World!!! The Toledo Museum of Art, the Toledo Zoo and the Toledo Mud Hens are our most popular nationally recognized attractions, joined recently by the very successful Hollywood Casino Toledo. Literally millions of visitors enjoy these major sources of entertainment annually. Groups are welcome in Toledo and we take pride in skillfully assisting crowds. We are affordable, accommodating and generally easy to do business with. Ask any of our Destination Toledo Staff for their personal favorites while you are in town. We want your visit to be the beginning of a long relationship!! Warm regards,

Welcome

Janet Johnson, Show Manager Melinda Huntley, Executive Director Beatrice Mitchell, Meeting Planner Assistant Jeremy Myers, Communications/Tour Operator Liaison

I am so pleased that you have made the decision to be a part of North America’s largest regional motorcoach trade show. Over the next few days, you will have the opportunity to meet with leading group tour operators and exhibitors from key markets. This show is designed to optimize your time with top-notch education, quality appointments and time to engage with old and new business acquaintances. But the relationships built in the next two days are just the beginning. The Heartland has amazing group travel experiences, and we’ll continue to connect these opportunities to operators throughout the coming year. This show is just the beginning, but it’s an important step to developing the relationships we all need to get to know what our buyers are needing and our sellers are offering.

We are committed to growing the $39 billion group travel business in this region, and we look forward to helping you do business. After a long, hard winter, we’re all looking forward to spending some quality time with a few hundred of our closest friends and colleagues. So settle in, and enjoy the warmth and charm that stems from the heart of America. Welcome to Heartland Travel Showcase. We’ve been waiting for you! Every day, tourism professionals are buried deeper and deeper under a neverending stream of e-mail. With no system for controlling the “e-mail beast”, many people spend too much work time spinning their wheels due to receiving too much e-mail, too fast, with no system to process all of it. Learn to take control of your e-mail and information overload at Taming the E-mail Beast, led by Randy Dean, author of the Amazon bestseller of the same name. Learn proven strategies for keeping your inbox efficient and under control, get rid of all those “quick little” e-mails once and for all, and get your account under control and keep it that way! For more than 20 years, Randy Dean has been obsessed with a topic that impacts us all – effective time management. A leading expert in the fields of time management, e-mail management, and personal organization, Randy has trained people in major corporate, academic, and non-profit settings on how to be more effective. A member of the National Speakers Association, he has delivered entertaining and informative programs for Procter & Gamble, Westinghouse Corporation, Delphi Automotive, and The Ohio State University, to name a few.
