Driving up to the property, I was immediately captivated by the daring design choice of the hotel’s exterior which, to me, was reminiscent of an antiquated step pyramid, but here made predominantly using glass. It wasn’t difficult to be fascinated by its architectural grandeur.
As I stepped into the lobby, the vastness of the space at once caught my attention. There weren’t any classical columns or perfectly shaped domes framing the area, but an elegant abstractness to the design language of this space that was guaranteed to make you stop and take a minute to admire its uniqueness.
I was immediately struck by the special effort that’s been made to ensure younger guests feel welcome. There is a special kids’ check-in counter where little visitors are greeted by their own fairytale character. They get a gift and have a chance to get to know the hotel’s kids’ team while both children and parents learn all about the day-long animations and activities programme. My own check-in process was handled quickly and smoothly and I noticed that service across the property was excellent and highly refined. I was put up in the Art Room, which was spacious with a homely yet modern aesthetic. The room’s décor was minimal but elaborately detailed. Coloured in shades of cream, grey and ebony, the room had an elegant and stately mood to it, but a singular wall doused in a sensational mustard colour brought a much-appreciated liveliness to the space. Mounted on that wall was a highdefinition 46-inch TV, and opposite it was a splendidly comfortable kingsize bed. The room further featured a large bathroom equipped with a vanity counter and designated shower and toilet sections.
